I wrote about my project few days ago on Idea Discussion, and my idea is starting to materialize!
Pokemon Gold/Silver: Fake 'em All!
Fake 'em All! is a tool which changes the biggest constant in the game - Pokemon!
With this program and original .gbc file you will be able to randomize Pokemon in balanced way!
Every Pokemon will receive new personality - new type, new stats, new moves, new color and more!
None of Pokemon you know will be the same here (well, the chance is really low). Each of Pokemon will be given random role - sweepers can become tankers, Alakazam can become powerful Fighting-type warrior, Pidgey can might take place of Dragonite family!
Imagine the enormous amount of possibilities this mod gives. Imagine playing Nuzlocke mode with totally random Pokemon each time. All of this will be waiting for you soon - right now, you have to wait for it first ;)
Progress (by time of 26th January):
• Done and there's nothing more to be improved:
• Works, but needs improvement
-Type randomization (needs some restrictions to prevent early-game pokemon having too good types, monitoring the ratio between types, eevee issue)
-Stats randomizer (improvement of formula, improvement of stat inheritance in families, randomization of pokemon overall power)
Pokemon palette adjuster (disabling certain color combinations for some pokemon, because second color can be either darker color, or ornament color)
-Moveset generator (putting some more restrictions, tweaking the levels when moves are learned)
-TM randomizer (gym leader TM issue)
-TM compatibility adjuster (needs tweaks)
-Pokemon names' generator (some names sound cheesy or awkward)
• Untouched but soon to be materialized:
-Wild pokemon data (walkable, fishable, headbuttable, special events, concering pokemon overall power)
-Trainer data (trainers with custom movesets need them to be adjusted)
-Bosses data (needs more work than typical trainers)
-Overall balance (balancing starters, etc.)
-I'm sure there's something more I've forgotten.
• Waiting last in queue until everything other is done:
-Egg moves data (does anyone even breed?)
-GUI

Thanks to entire Gen II romhacking community for access to knowledge. Without you I wouldn't even think of this idea.
Estimated Release Date:
I'm going to have more free time since 4th February. Expect release after this date.

This looks fantastically cool! I found a randomizer for emerald a while back but it only worked with randomizing where pokemon are found. This is a while new spin on it AND it's for Gen II! I'm definitely excited to see this come to life!

The same guy actually did a R/B randomizer, too: http://artemis251.fobby.net/downloads/redblue/ (And it seems to essentially be the same thing as Akwa's GSC one).

Yeah, and he's stated he doesn't currently have plans for a GSC randomizer.
I like the irony in the explanation though. In a YouTube video showing off the RB randomizer, the description states "Hope you all have fun revisiting Kanto!". And in one of his comments, he states "(To be honest, I never really got into G/S/C...the whole revisiting Kanto thing felt too repetitive...)".
I don't get it.

This is stunning. It looks like a ton of fun to play, and I'm very eager to play it once its released. Keep up the great work.

Nice! I vote for random Pokémon names. :)
P.S. Are the EXP curves Pokémon have randomized?

Looking really great!
If you can come up with a solution, pokemon names could be randomized in my opinion too.

Thanks for positive feedback!

Yeah, I forgot to mention them. This will be a toggleable feature (meaning one can turn it off). And I have an idea how to do that.
Are the EXP curves Pokémon have randomized?
Sure. Though we can't talk about 'randomization' here, more of adjusting because if Pokemon is given low stats I don't want it to have slowest exp group.
I also plan to have 'balance level' selectable, the higher it is the more restrictions will be (but more serious game).
Oh, I forgot to ask. Do you mind Pokemon like Pidgey (of course with changed type) having moves like Mega Punch? Rattata with Self-Destruct?

Everything sounds good about it!

I wouldn't mind seeing them use moves like that. There will be people who like that feature and others who don't. I'd say, do like you'd prefer having it yourself.

The thing I really like about this being for G/S/C (aside from it being my favorite gen) is the fact that the colors change to fit the new types. In a red/blue one it would be greyscale. I did check out the Red/Blue one that guy did but again, I think the color and name changing aspect would be fantastically fun. Never know, we might just run into a blue pikachu! ;D

The Red and Blue one does change the colors though.

My emulator always plays r/b/g in grey scale. I don't know how to put the color option on but if that is the case that's cool. I still would love one for g/s/c.

Gonna love it, it will bring random amounts of craziness to your average Gen 2 game!

this is gonna be so awsome but i have two questions/problem
will the pokemon have the same type (or add a second) when they evo? also about the pokemon leanring dif moves i dont mind pidgey useing fighting attacks but keep it in reason (low kick maybe dynamic punch no =P)

Do you program this yourself?? What language do you use??
The Storm is here!
Gotta hack them all, Gotta hack them all, Pokemon.

Evolutions will always inherit types from their earlier forms. If they inherit one type, there will be a chance for them to receive a second type.
I guess I'll have to give player the option of choosing whether he wants fitting moves or not.

Yea, I use Python. It's pretty easy to edit stuff in Pokemon with this.

Hey, I had some time yesterday and today and continued on working. I finished generation of base stats (attack, defense and so on) and mechanism improving stats inheritance from prevolutions. I also started working on script which determines learnable TMs for any pokemon.
I tried my work and I've got to say I'm having lots of fun, here's my team after defeating Whitney (3rd gym):
Croconaw shouldn't learn Twineedle, though, I need to investigate that.
There's a lot of work left to do. I might release beta when I ensure most basic scripts are done. Things like wild pokemon encounters will be updated later.

Hope to see your first release:) and looks very good

I'm so excited for the random pallets and movesets :D!

hmmm i seem to be wearing a purple shirt and white shorts dang croconaw btw looking good so far =P

You should add an option to also randomize their cries. Each cry is defined in 3 bytes, so it shouldn't be too hard if we know a few reasonable ranges.
This isn't easy to say, but…
