Pokemon Aventures (Manga)

It would be interesting if the pokemon games were hacked to follow the pokemon manga story lines. Although that would mean that they wouldn't follow the traditional introduction of getting your first pokemon from the pokemon professor. For example, Red would already have a Poiwhirl.

Well. Is this a project you're working on...or are you asking for it to be worked on?

If the latter than sorry. Many people here are already tied up with their projects and many are learning. But it is a good idea, if only you had the motivation to learn how to hack these games.

Re: Pokemon Aventures (Manga)

I wish I could hack the older generation games, but I can never get around to actually understand hex editing.
Tutorials always confuse me even more than when I'm confused in math class. o.O

I suppose gba hacks might be easier for me, but I tend to struggle with scripting. There's someone in PokeCommunity named AvatarKris who is already working on this for gba (it's called Pokemon Manga Red). I guess I'll just leave the to the hacking experts.

Regarding scripting, why is writing instructions so difficult?

1. Take tea bag from pot
2. Place tea bag in cup
3. Fill kettle with water
4. Plug kettle into power
5. Turn on
6. Wait till boiled
7. Turn off
8. Remove from power
9. Pour over tea bag in cup
10. Remove tea bag
11. Pour in milk
12. Stir

Re: Pokemon Aventures (Manga)

well i'd advise not give up. thanks to tools, gba scripting is a lot easier, and its not hard once you understand flags and command combinations. gbc scripting is a little difficult but understanding bit data and what they mean will make easier. for example 5A could mean C, B1 could mean a, and FB could meat t. So 5A, B1, FB would mean Cat. it gets more difficult but learning the offsets and pointers will help a lot.

Re: Pokemon Aventures (Manga)

I, for one, am a huge fan of the manga. I think it has a much stronger emotional and personal tie, and a thicker story. Good luck if you continue with this! :D
