I want to thank Mateo, Miksy91 and Rangi for the great help with script, game structure etc, FroggerSpirit for the GB CLASSIC musics, Koolboyman and Sanqui for the ????? re-use and maybe someone else that now I miss, for this work hard, very hard, but who cares, I'm very satisfied! :D

I did this work exclusively in binary mode using the disassembly only like an explanation for the routines and the offset which I needed.

Why? 'Cause I did this work for the 3 roms in both languages, english for international players and italian 'cause I'm italian and I wanted to give this hack also to my italian "brothers". XD XD XD And for me obviously, I love english, but I love also my words. :)

In the archive link you will find the patches for Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal and Oro, Argento and Cristallo, that are the italian roms. You can use only the english patches obviously. :)

I made this work in 6 different roms, I don't know if there are bug or glitches, if I mistaken something tell me and I'll fix it.

Flag fix if in Crystal you can't get the Poké Flute with a savegame started before the April 23 2019 patches:

Go to the girl in New Bark town little house in the bottom left and she will fix the flag. Use it only when you arrived in Fuchsia City! Sorry.

Yep, finally! :D Thanks again! :D Try it if you have enough time. If you don't want to restart it from the beginning decompile Clair's script in the gym to see which flags are cleared/set (except for the Zapdos flag in the route 10 are all correctly to set/clear if you have a completed game) and then travel in the restored Kanto locations! :D

Re: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal 2.0 finally get a public release!

I put it on my phone this afternoon (English Silver patch) and I'll try playing it from the beginning to help pass the time at work this weekend. I was thinking of replaying Silver already, so may as well do it with these extras included :)

You can get all the Pokemon right in any version or will I still have to trade them?

Ok, great choice. I prefer Silver by Gold too. :D However, due to your hacks I thought you preferred Crystal. XD

(my betatesters told me that there is a glitch with Growl and other defense moves, that seems that don't work, but is a native glitch, that happen also with the clean roms, in the italian at least, but I think also for the US).

Ziko wrote:

I always made "official" hack roms, then this extension is only to have all Kanto missing stuff, then yes, you still have to trade with the other roms to complete the pokédex and G/S/C have different wild added pokémons, very very similar to HG/SS. And due to the new added areas when you trade pokémons from Crystal 2.0 the caught data become erased to avoid glitches in retail Crystal.

No, I played Silver infinitely more than Crystal. I only switched to hacking Crystal because it was easier once it had been disassembled. If they had disassembled Gold and Silver first, I would have stuck with Silver haha.

Also, I noticed a very strange bug last night. Choosing the "Pkmn" option in battle is broken. When you choose it, first it acts like there is an invisible menu of some sort on the left side of the screen. Pressing "A" on anything in the invisible menu takes you to the party menu. Trying to cancel out of the menu freezes the game. I'm not sure if choosing "Switch" would have worked, didn't get the chance to try because of it freezing. Not really sure how that would have showed up, but my only guess is to double check your changes from when you added the safari battle type, maybe something got messed up while repointing things.

I'll check it.

Ok, I found it too. It happens only in US Gold and Silver. Is maybe a glitch that happens 'cause perhaps I forgot to update an address for the US roms, in the italian version works correctly. I need of a bit of time to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenient.

Re: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal 2.0 finally get a public release!

To fix it immediately go with a hex editor here:

9sCLdFv.png

And type the 0xE0 value, was the old italian pointer 'cause I wrote this routine for italian Crystal at the beginning, then I converted it for italian Gold/Silver and then for US Gold and Silver... I'll release another patch link soon, with the rom correct header fixed too, now I'm in hurry, sorry for the inconvenient, I did this work on 6 different roms, I made something wrong, but I hope this was the last bug, very sorry...

To fix also the checksum go to the offset $14F and type the 6D value. However I released a new zip with the updated patches. Thank you for the report and sorry again.

Thanks for looking into it so quickly. I already fixed the header myself with BGB's option to fix checksums. I'll try out the fixed version tomorrow. Thanks again!

Re: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal 2.0 finally get a public release!

You're welcome. ;)

I'm a bit inattentive, but I'm lucky 'cause I have also beta testers for the italian versions.

I'll do my best to fix every bug you'll report me, sorry but I tested only if the Safari battle type worked, without test deeply the normal fighting. Sorry. XD

P.S. the byte to fix is the same at the same rom address with the same value also in Gold.

I found also another minor bug, the rival at the league that want to rematch you on Monday had only one step movement 'cause I overwrited the offset with the near Abra script, download again the patch and sorry... Or maybe wait for another revision, is a minor bug and only after the league.

How you have tested "all the files" have you opened it with a map editor and verified all the scripts?
