Heh, I wish there was an AgiXP for Red and Blue. What if with the combined knowledge of all of us members at Skeetendo we put together a program to do it? I've heard that the compression scheme for Gold and Silver is more complex than the one for Red and Blue. If it could be done for the metal generations, why not the color ones? I bet if we all put our heads together we could do this and it would lift some of the boundaries constraining 1st generation hackers. I'm trying to study up and read some docs myself on the compression, but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding Tauwasser's descriptions. Maybe he gave an example it would be easier for me to understand...

It's very possible. I started on (but didn't finish) a decompressor a while back, and a compressor is absolutely doable too, thanks to the documentation.

There are lots of examples in the document. I had to read them through a few times, but they're understandable.

That's great to hear!

Yeah, there are a lot of examples, I guess since I'm an visual learner I'd prefer more screenshots and such, but that's probably expecting too much. Well, I'll definitely continue studying and try and learn as much as I can. I think the combined efforts of a community like this could produce some remarkable tools (in fact I know so, as the skeetendo tools section is a great example). :)

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

Agixp usually works for me but it suddenly unable to work. Agixp not say error or anything. When I click at it, nothing happened. Is it because I have too much minimized it? The same thing happens to the Pointer Berechner. I remember i minimized between many multiple tools when editing tileset header. Sorry, but I'm really new with my computer Windows XP. I even don't know how to type in "é" :'(. Im on my phone now, so, i can type in "é" :-P

If you have a number pad, type Alt+0233.

(It’s easier on Unix: enable the compose key and then press Alt ' e! :P)

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

I seem to remember having the problem before, it was something making it load outside the viewable area of the screen. If it shows up in the taskbar, but not on the screen, try right-clicking it on the taskbar and hitting "move" then click where ever your mouse jumps to and drag it onto the screen.

Mateo wrote:

You cannot change the size of the image the pokemon uses with AgiXP. You have to change that manually by going to their actual pokemon data (the location escapes me, I'll look it up when I get the chance). Basically, here are the sizes Pokemon pictures can be:

40x40 - used by smaller pokemon, such as Totodile, Pidgey, etc.
48x48 - used by medium pokemon, such as Croconaw
56x56 - used by larger pokemon, such as Feraligatr, Mewtwo, etc.

If you were to insert a 56x56 image for a pokemon who originally had a 48x48 or 40x40 image, the picture will look scrambled in the game, because the pokemon's data is telling it to load a different number of tiles. Changing the byte in the pokemon's data will fix that however.

The best way to avoid problems, if you can, is to export the picture of the pokemon you are replacing, and then make your new image the same size if you can. This cut's down on having to edit the size manually.

thanks 4 posting this man really helps thats why it looks like poop like this i've upload earlier thanks really helps. this was i talking about image0019z.jpg

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

I had been having trouble for some time now with the 110mb site. It would allow me to sign in, but was refusing to let me upload new files (always telling me the upload failed). I wouldn't be surprised if I will have to just get a new place to host them (and the main site when I can ever be bothered to make one) as they may have just kicked me out or something. I'll check though.

EDIT: Yeah, It won't even work for me in Firefox. And when I go to log in, my information isn't recognized anymore. I'm guessing it's time to find a new place and re-host these files.

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

unfortunately, I have almost never had problems with it myself, and the ones I've had, I fixed with the files listed above. As I haven't been able to replicate the problems, I haven't been able to come up with solutions for you guys. Maybe someone else knows though. Could you try posting the part after the 0x in the error code? It might be helpful to someone in determining what is wrong.

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

It looks to be the same error code someone posted earlier. I don't think we ever actually found the reason for it, except that it seemed to be from a dll or ocx not being registered (at least that is what a google search for the error code has revealed, with other programs written in visual basic returning the same error). I'm not sure what that would be if its not one of the other DLLs. And you say that it failed to install the active x control pad program with an error, what error did the control pad give when you tried to install?

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

You have to run the installer in an older compatibility mode. Win98 compatibility worked fine for me.

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

I will. I need to go through and make a list of what all files need to be fixed, I'm sure a lot of them are broken now that it seems 110mb has kicked me out, probably due to "copyright" or something else related to hosting rom hacking related files. Oh well.

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

honestly, most of the time I haven't had to do anything to get it to work other than download it. The times I have had trouble, installing those files worked. However, if installing those DLLs manually doesn't work, you can try downloading and installing "Active X Control Pad" from Microsoft, which will install the needed files for you.

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

This is going to sound noobish but I've actually tried to make agixp work by installing the library files through command prompt, installing active x etc.
I believe the reason for the program not working is the fact that I've 64bit Vista (so it may not support 32bit library files).
I'm not sure though, the computer can still run 32bit programs just fine...

Re: AgiXP English, missing files included

I'm not sure if that would do it or not, I've never tried it on 64bit Vista. I've only used it on 32bit Vista and XP. But you're right, 64bit can run 32bit programs, so I don't really know.

Although, my parents computer has 64bit vista, so after church I'll try it out on theirs and see what I come up with.

mateo thanks for the library files and the activex C.P, finally the AGIXP is working, but the problem now is that I don't know how to use it. I told you should make a tutorial cause this program it's NOT like the other ones. :-)
