Because I can share and not simply ask annoying questions, I present a tweaked ClassicMap :D
This is largely the last release of ClassicMap (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=238450) which was discontinued, with a couple tweaks.
1 - Export to .blk; save your maps as a .blk file :D
2 - Reads address data from compile .sym files :D
I tweaked this to make my work on my pokered projects easier. Drop this wherever your pokered files will compile to and run; it will load the present .sym file for addresses and load the maps. It needs a ROM file to start with, it will not load .blk files itself. But, it can be used to update existing maps or fill in placeholder maps.
This is pretty cool.
I have two suggestions.
First, you should report an error to the user that a .sym file was not found rather than letting the program crash.
Second, the loading of the town map seems to be broken, even on an unmodified pokered project/rom.
I probably won't actually be using this myself, since I still have that version of GlitchMap I was sent to help test, and because the Town Map in Red++ isn't RLE encoded anymore and various things like that, but this is still pretty handy for other people, so thanks for posting it.
Danny: Yup; this one has been used by me so often I forgot to manage a couple things like that. As to the town map, it seems the cursor is mostly the issue and I sort of stopped noticing that but yes, I do recall it. I'll see what I can do about both items in the near term.
New build of the ClassicMap 2016; error check on the SYM file, reports if it is not found or loads the file found if so. Some additional tweaks to allow for the Pokemon in the event more Pokemon have been added to the ROM.
