Looks like exactly what I'm messing around with in my Rom hack.  How's the safari zone look?

Re: Pokemo Bright Gold

Well its just normal are wich is located in Cianwood city.
it doesent require anything, so you can just go there whenever you want.

Its different from other safarizones for example you dont need safari balls or pay to get in.
I would say that its more like an area where you can cathc rare pokemons such as starters.

Its pretty much alike to other new place in my game called the pokemon paradise.

Re: Pokemo Bright Gold

Irrelevant to the thread, but I noticed you had sent me email about event editing, kaataja.
I personally use Johtomap for doing all kinds of stuff with event editing, but for making new areas, I normally write the "base" of event data with a hex editor (by putting some random warps, signposts and people events with random specifics into the map) and edit them to function properly with Johtomap then. For learning how to do this, try reading tutorials in Gen II section or check my videos in youtube. Part 4 - I think - explains several things about event structure and with that knowledge, you should be able to edit them yourself. By understanding part 4, you should totally watch the previous parts first (unless you know how to work with hex editor and understand how pointers work).

Re: Pokemo Bright Gold

Thanks for the tip Miksy.
I have watched your hex editing tutorial video but im still pretty confused about hex editing.
And about that event editing i did not mean those basic warps and singposts or people. I was wondering how to make completely new event. For example hero goes in some place and legendary pokemon pops up. Something like making an event wich isnt in game already. But i was also going to ask you that how you can make new area in to bank like you can do with Gen III map editors.

You practically can't do any of this before you know how to repoint data or make room for new stuff some other way.

For a legendary encounter you would have to make room for another person event for the area where you want to put this legendary in and due one of the following;
1) Script an event (for example an invisible Trigger event that activates when you walk on it) that makes the legendary pokemon approach you and start a battle with you, or
2) Almost in a similar way, just make the legendary pokemon battle you when you "talk to it". This can be scripted in a similar way.

I have never had to create totally new maps, but I assume that all you would have to do would be putting up a new entry at the end of Primary Headers for each map. Following the Primary Headers is probably the Secondary Map Header of the "first map", so you would have to move (= repoint) data that out of the way for putting up new Primary Headers there. There may also be a count of how many Primary Headers there are in total.
I may remember wrong about this though..

But basically, learn how to work with a hex editor first. And after you have gotten the hang of doing simple stuff (like editing text, trainers, wild pokemon, evolution and moveset datas of pokemon, searching for text strings and some other data etc.), start studying how pointers work and how to repoint data. After you have gotten the hang of that (for example, make some pokemon learn more moves than originally while not breaking the functionality of anything else), you could start reading how event structure works and perhaps how to script as well.

Re: Pokemo Bright Gold

Thanks!
I study these things more carefully after my hack is complete.
Since i just begin romhacking i tought that i would make only minor hacks first. And i assume that if you make bigger hack like your Pokemon Dark Energy, you would need hex editing and other stuff.
