ok. completely random but yeah...

i am dieing pokemon wise. i cant find any interest in hacking anymore, as the first beta of my game went so badly. i have just felt so put down cause no matter how much help i get and how much i try, look at the end result. i dont want to quit this, but it's just like, impossible for me to move on. i cant come up with ideas, and whenever i do, they glitch up. it annoys the hell outa me..

I was in your shoes. And now look at me, I'm a lurking troll who cannot even start a hack without it failing.

Don't be like me! Continue hacking!

Re: ok. completely random but yeah...

literally everything from hex. i can do small stuff like text and with an easy to follow tutorial make changes, like if anyone played my beta through, they would've noticed that mahogony town is no more, theres a lake of rage city. but literally everything is confusing

Re: ok. completely random but yeah...

Hex is like a bunch of instructions for the computer to read. Some of it is assembly (in the form of opcodes), and some of it is values. The mistake noobs can make, is they are frightened of it, they see it as gibberish. Well essentially that is what it is to the untrained eye. Sometimes you just got to back up your ROM and experiment!

@Red , Well Red,The biggest part of hacking is patience, if you don't have it you won't be able to get far. But in my way , i just can't continue , i cannot continue without agixp, it is like the biggest part of my hacking ways.
And i don't think your a lurking troll. You could be able to make a great hack.

Re: ok. completely random but yeah...

thanks for the support everyone, but i'm probably gonna take some time getting my heart back into this. i actually want to make a completely new game, so you know what! i'm gonna just edit the maps for now, i'm gonna start off the easy way, no hex, just editing maps. question though, how could i make the maps bigger?

Almost, the computer reads in 0's or 1's.
