This includes a bunch of sprite and palette updates, the right ledge bug fix, and a perfect gsc battle hud that has the 'already owned' pokeball tile for wild battles and a fully functional and colorized experience bar.

You're welcome. Thanks for appreciating it.

Side note, I just noticed a bug. The palettes don't update properly when the player loses a battle.
The screen turns all white when it should be printing the "Player is out of useable Pokemon" message.
This happened for me in bgb.

Hello, Im using the Vanilla Color Patch, when in trainer battles the pallets update half of the pokemon and trainer until the opponent is sent out then it fixes.

Can you please fix this!? And thanks so much for the patch in the first place!

Yes, this kind of glitch happens in wild battles too, where the enemy Pokemon will be half colored with its health bar palette. But the bug seems to be more common in trainer battles. Unfortunately I'm not sure why it happens. Perhaps Drenn could help.

Wow,  pretty cool that this is being updated. I played this several months ago and thought it was pretty amazing. I play on real hardware, by the way, and I've not noticed any "damage".

Thanks a lot for all the hard work. It's updates like these that help make going back to the originals interesting.

Well, both of these hacks (Full Color and Gen II GFX&Music) are developed by compiling the source code into new roms. So the binary information in the two roms and their ips patches are "arbitrary" but yes, it would be quite easy to put the new music into this hack.

It's just a matter of taking the gen II music files from here and copying them into here and recompiling the rom.

heheh I tired loading an ASM music file from Pokemon TCG but it didnt work, I was able to use the program successfully for a user made song on the forums though,

TCG and Red do not have the same music format.

If you want to put TCG music in Red, you could start with these files which are the TCG songs in Crystal format, which is a lot closer to Red format than TCG format.

It seems I can only import user made custom music, the rby importer wouldnt work with me on those ASM files.

Also any update on pokemon red in color? starting a new hack I ve been working on in planning and testing for a while now.

I did not realize you were talking about using RBYImport. I would not waste your time with such a complicated program that was made a long time before there was an adequate understanding of the music data.

Edit: thanks Danny, and to the people on the #skeetendo IRC. I used Cygwin and compiled your fork.
Got everything working!

I ended up using the pokemon sprites from all the different versions and as expected the pallets dont match up.
So i used the original game pallets and it gives it a pokemon yellow feel. looks better and now i dont need to edit the pallets!

So now i can even throw some gen 2 pokemon in and not have to do any pallet editing!

The problem with that is I'm on Windows and compiling doesn't work for me. I've followed the instructions perfectly and no dice. My friend who has a Mac was able to compile Crystal Complete for me, but he doesn't feel like doing any more favors for me so I'm stuck.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I'd like to thank everyone who helped in the release of this hack. It's really awesome, enjoying the vanilla version on my Android mobile.

Yes, the source code from which this rom was built also builds blue version, but we never made a download link for it just cause then there would be so many versions and download links.
You can build blue if you want from the source:

I updated the first post. I added Blue versions (with Gen 1 and Gen 2 graphics).
I also fixed the bug where the screen is all white when the player blacks out in a battle, so I uploaded new Red versions also.
