I don't mean completely new tilesets, but if you notice the towns in Hoenn have different house styles from each other, and in Heart Gold the towns have different house styles as well. It looks very plain when a lot of towns use the same house style after leaving Hoenn where they have variety. I'm just saying it would be easy to add that variety and it would make the game look a bit better and more official.

Hard to say which sprites to replace honestly. I'll try looking for tutorials/info on how to just add new trainer sprites without replacing anything.

When I've 1st time played Pokémon Ruby and get finished. Every day I will googles like this "How can I go to Kanto/Johto after defeating RUBY's Elite Four?" and at least today I've get my answer though..

So far, not finding anything helpful about adding new trainer sprites that don't overwrite anything. All I can find is the part you already know, how to replace existing ones.

Yep, that's the one. Although he's since completely overhauled the graphics it seems, and it is actually not a hack but an RPGMaker game.

Thank you Mateo. Celebi Shrine I use 100%. And meybe NEW BARK House to give other houses style especialy for JOHTO. Now I done all maps which now is included in my hack. Now i start writing scripts.

Also, did you include inside maps for Route Gates? I know that in the video you showed, you walked in one side and came out the other. And is there any way to make it so you walk in the side instead of up from below for the side gates? I know Fire Red had that type of warp, can't remember if Ruby did.

Also those newbark houses might give you problems with the door animation. Since they are based on FireRed, that only seems to animate 1 block when the door opens. Ruby seems to make a phantom block pop up even if you don't use it above the door in the animation (at least thats what it looked like when I experimented with those houses I linked to earlier on page 1, where I was playing with Advance Map).

NEW UPDATE. It is possible by new version of ADVANCED MAP to add new Tilesets. What that mean? I want add new Tilesets especialy for Johto without earsing existing ones.

Good luck! Also, if you use my FireRed style buildings, good luck with the doors because of animations.

(also, let me know if I need to fix any pallet problems with those buildings and things to be able to use them)

EDIT: Just checked, you can totally make route gates that work normally where you walk in from the side in Ruby. On the block editor, when you set up the block with the steps/carpet/whatever that you want to enable the side warp, you need to set its Behaviour byte to $62 or $63 depending on left or right, then just sit the warp on top of it.

For your GATES question Mateo. Pokemon Ruby do not include SIDE warps. This gates which i did is the only one way to make them. But Final Release should include iside of Gates with Pokemon BW Gates theme XD.

I hear a lot of people have trouble with those, apparently there are tutorials for them but they seem to not work right or something. Well, if you can't do headbutt trees you might could find some other way to do it.

Also, one thing that I think would be cool. Since this is Ruby and you have Dive, you should add underwater areas to some places in Johto. I think using dive near Whirl Islands would be very fitting. Maybe make it so you have to use DIVE to get to the cave with Lugia inside.

Hmmmm.... Nice Idea... Now Lugia in my hack is on underwater cave near Sootopils City. But when I add Underwater on Johto. It was been unnatural to this region. Only UNOVA and HOENN for now have Underwater Areas. Also i think about Implement WHIRLPOOLS. But also I do not know script.

Yep. I do it. Especialy for TAMPLE tilesets. <Or wooden Tower> Advanced Map 1.95 icluding option of Adding new Tilesets without earsing existing One. I add 2 tilesets for Johto Locations. But one thing I give from Kanto to Johto. Pokemon GSC Kanto Grass tiles. They look better than Johto Grass <Which is also in Tileset XD> And with Mateo discover about Side Warps. I can make fully Gates to my game XD.

I have good news for ya. I want add FULL JOHTO REGION to my hack. What that mean? I Add also GOLDENROD.
I can use an Header maked for WHIRL ISLANDS to give GOLDENROD CITY Header.

Routes have JOHTO ROUTES header
All Caves have JOHTO CAVES header
Special Places like NATIONAL PARK, SAFARI ZONE, TIN TOWER, ILEX FOREST have header JOHTO PLACES
All Towns have own header. Now I end making map of MAHOGANY TOWN, CINAWOOD TOWN and ROUTES TO THEM. Tommorow i start making CAVES of JOHTO, Blackthorn City, Goldenrod City and routes to them. When i did all Maps. I start do events for them XD.

One advice for Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire hackers. Is in the rom an 20 places beafore point 350 <Beta Littleroot theme> Where was special SPEECH sample countain Bag sections and other which is not used in the game.

And All Johto Locations with this system with oryginal music. It can have some glitches. For now tests all looking good. But two things i do not add.

HEADBUTT TREE.
In the game in tilesets is graphic of them. But it was only decoration

WHIRLPOOL
I give as TM43 whirlpool. But I do not have script for them.

I do not change in tilesets of Johto only WATER and MICRO GRASS tiles. But rest I changed. Also I add wooden Tower tilesets. Now I working on Lake or Rage map. And Think it was possible to add SHINY POKEMON BATTLE script. I mean about add RED GYARADOS battle.
