Hi folks. I prepare now a great hack. All of Pokemon RSE players are bored that they do not have another question after ELITE FOUR and BECAMING MASTER. I give you answer for your borings. LAND OF JOHTO. After you take a cruise to BATTLE TOWER you've seen that you know from somewhere that building. Thats Right. You come back to Johto. Go throught gateway and go to OLIVINE Gym Leader an give her challenge. Come back Brendan/May to Johto XD

Yes. Tommorow i give you some screenshots from Johto Locations. But due Rom Limitations. I can not include GOLDENROD CITY into the game. I think also about NATIONAL PARK and LAKE OF RAGE. I have only 2 unused Headers. All routes i write as JOHTO ROUTES header. I think about change special header for UNION CAVE to JOHTO CAVE and add to this header DARK CAVE and MT.MORTAR.
Also I have for you question. I should give normal JOHTO pokemon Levels or give higher?

If you wanted to do it the official way, I would say give trainers higher level but make the Wild Pokemon keep their normal levels, the way Gamefreak did with Kanto. But at the same time, higher leveled Wild Pokemon in Johto would be nice.
Also, I don't think Ruby has them, but I think if you had based it on Emerald instead of Ruby, you would have been able to rename a lot of the placeholder map names that it has purely for compatibility with Fire Red. But its a little late for that, haha. Also if you did decide to switch to Emerald, apparently the "real" freespace isn't very much and you need to expand the rom. If you use the 00 free space like people originally used, it causes a lot of music glitches. At least that's what I've picked up from PokeCommunity, I have no real experience with Gen III hacking.
It is not needed. EMERALD like RUBY and SAPPHIRE have TRAINER SPRITES limitations. I want add JOHTO GYM LEADERS and GOLD <To make like Pokemon Gold fighting with RED> But Where been Gold in my hack? In him house in Newbark. He have a music of HOENN CHAMPION (Advanced ASM working to change it. I'm duno with ASM> But i add him. About Leaders. They are an JASMINE, MORTY, FALKNER, BUGSY and I think about add WHIRL ISLANDS and CINAWOOD to add CHUCK or add MT.MORTAR and PRYCE. Also i can give way out from ILEX FOREST to GOLDENROD to add WHITNEY as Gym Leader. But i have better Idea. I can't make fully Johto inside that game. About Placeholder names. I've seen that some Headers appeared Doubled <Like FIERY PATH or JAGGED PASS> And one as six time <UNDERWATER> I redirected maps to first named header <To keep their oryginal names> And rest multipled Headers I changed. Also i earse SEALED CHAMBER and repoin their maps with Seaflor Cavern <Now SEALEDCHAMBER place have AZALEA TOWN HEADER>
I don't think it was ever said in RSE which city in Johto he originally came from, but I don't think I ever actually finished RSE. I always made it to Flannery, but after that it varied how far I got before I went on to playing something else. I started a Zigzagoon-only run once to abuse his Pickup ability, but I still haven't finished that one yet either. But that's getting off-topic. You might see on Bulbapedia if they have any speculation as to where Brendan came from in Johto or not.

It shows an new JOHTO maps with my updated graphics and new music for entiery part of Johto. It is testmaps <No Events without needed warps> Now look at it XD
Looking good for the most part, but I notice a few things that could use improving.
- Some towns are misspelled. Ecruteak City was "ECRURTREAK CITY" or something like that, and Cherrygrove said Town instead of City.
- A few of the houses look odd because they have really tiny roof graphics. Maybe if you replaced to use some of the tiles from Fire Red where the buildings aren't as tall in the front so they would fit better. Or just redesign the Hoenn ones you've been using to make them fit on the map better.
- A couple of tile errors, such as sandy edges next to pathways and stuff, and no sand in Cherrygrove.
- The gates seem a bit off, since they have the doors and they don't seem to have inside maps. They could easily be added keeping the same "JOHTO ROUTES" display name.
But otherwise it looks like it's off to a good start. Also, since I redesigned some of the Johto maps in Pokemon Christmas to fit in larger houses and bring them more up-to-date, you're welcome to steal my layouts if you like, if you think it would help make things fit on the map better.
Don't want to disencourage you but the mapping looks awful. Especially Gen III graphics feature lots of possibilities. But the basic idea isn't bad.

I think part of the problem with the mapping comes from trying to stick too closely to the original 2x2 based layout from Gen II and somewhat combining it with the 3x3 style used for Gen III and it comes out awkward in places. It's still a good start, so don't get discouraged. But yeah, it does need improving. And since it looks like right now the maps are still in early test stages, now is the perfect time to make changes like that.
Also an idea that occurred to me: If you are using the idea of "JOHTO ROUTE" and "JOHTO CAVE" and the idea that they are out-of-range of your MapCard or whatever, it would seem like using "JOHTO TOWN" wouldn't feel out of place by comparison, and would allow you to easily add all of Johto without having to switch to Emerald and add a second town map. Just a thought, you can take it or leave it obviously. I just want to contribute as much as I can, because having Johto as a second region is giving me incentive to finally beat Gen III for once, so I want to see it finished and done well. Haha.
EDIT: If you do include all of Johto, are you planning to include the areas that were added for Crystal and HeartGold? Also, if you get stuck on coming up with story idea for Johto as a second region (since obviously the events wouldn't make sense to be the same as Gold) I can help with that. I know nothing about the actual scripting and things from Gen III, but I took a lot of creative writing classes for my degree and I love the Johto region, so I could probably help you with the story aspect if you could handle the scripting.

Idea with JOHTO TOWN header is nice. But when I use it. I must decrease SHOW NAME of our towns. Only it was seen as POKEMON STATS SCREEN. And it give me more abilities. Than I add an JOHTO using 3 headers. I can add KANTO doing that same way <Only 3 or 4 headers> Now Johto used 7 headers than is 10 unused ones. <I can not earse DISTORTION WORLD Header which I make an special place for GIRATINA <Meybe Later I ported Music> And an one thing. How to resize spritebanks. Normaly i have 6 free spaces to enter new sprites <Repleacing Team Aqua sprites which is not used in Pokemon Ruby> I take graphics from PWT from Pokemon Black 2 to Johto Trainers. When i know how to resize Trainer Sprites. It would give me ability to resize Allowed Sprites. And i can freely add all JOHTO and even KANTO gym leaders. Also I planed to give a return of TEAM ROCKET. I know that it needed ASM working to set music. But i hope that is not so hard. I know. It was more to implement. And about Tilesets. I can't add new one. New Tilesets when I add broke rest of them. For now. I done DARK CAVE <Using chaged header JOHTO CAVES> And I freshly done <Shorted like in GSC of Kanto> Version of Tin Tower. I do not have ideal tample tilesets. Than first flor I make in CAVE style. But The top of tower is keeped as normaly like. And I post in their top an HO-OH on 50 lvl.
About HGSS places. Sure. If i have an FREE SPACE <It is possible to fill all space without resizing form. Pokemon Ruby have a lot of free space from offset $670000 to end of the rom.> I add Routes to new Safari Zone which script I copy from Hoenn Safari Zone <Also with Music XD> And If I add Kanto. In Fushia i add Safari Zone with EVOLUTION theme music. Three safari Zones with Diffrent Pokemon on there. But remember... It is impossible to inplement 3 and even 2 Town Maps to Pokemon Ruby Rom. And adding more than 2 extra flying headers. But I tested Pokecenters. When you visit Olivine Pokecenter and lost in seas of them... You was turned back to Olivine.

But how to expand maximal allowed sprites? I need more than 82 sprites to add. I can add only 6 <Earsing Team Aqua Sprites> But to fill Johto Leaders i need 2 extra spriteplaces...
I don't know if this is relevant or not (because I don't know much about how Gen III works) but I know that there is a house in one of the routes where you fight a lot of trainers who use standard sprites, but the trainer class for all of them is WINSTRATE. I wonder if these are extra classes that just load the same images by default as the normal classes. If so, you could probably change them to use normal trainer classes instead of being called WINSTRATE if you liked. But again, I only know how they look in the game. I don't know how easy that would be to do or not, but it seems like something to look into.

EDIT: After downloading a trainer editor for Gen III I see that it works completely differently from Gen II, and that you can make a trainer of any class use any sprite and random things like that, so the Winstrate angle is a dead-end. Oh well.

WINSTRATES is important for HOENN part of story. They are family of STEVEN STONE. But I found 2 sprites which I can repleace. Sprites of BUG MANIAC <Which can share Bug Catcher sprite> And HEX MANIAC <Which can share PSYCHIC sprite> That give mi extra place for sprites of GOLD and CLAIR. FOr now I have 7 Gym Leaders of Johto. I give JOHTO GYM LEADER MUSIC using easy trick. In rom is 3 Trainer classes based on TEAM AQUA... What I do? I change TEAM AQUA trainer class to MAGMA BOSS and oryginal MAGMA BOSS I rename to JOHTO LEADER. And later I use TEAM LEADER music pointer to change it to JOHTO LEADER THEME. For now I end instering Overworld sprites to the game. For that I must earse SecretBases. But Scripts still that same., What I do? I change TM43 from SECRET POWER to HEADBUTT becouse I try port HEADBUTT TREES.
All you know as Fairy type was comfired. What that mean? I add that type to my game repleacing ??? one. Curse was set to be an Ghost type. Also i change one unneeded attack named SPIDER WEB to MOON BLAST which have that same animation like Solar Beam <And that same needed> It is only one typical Fairy Type attack in game.
Q - Did you write an code to make super Effective Fairy Type attacks for Dragons?
A - Yes. I update an table of ??? type to make them real. If they show an more information. I update Type Tables.
Q - Is there typicaly Fairy Type Pokemon?
A - Yes and No. I do not add to my game Sylveon. But I retype from Normal to Fairy an Togepi. Togetic keep their secound type Flying. But First type is Fairy.
Q - What Pokemon existing in game have Fairy Type.
A - It was Igglypuff-Jigglypuff-Wiglypuff, Clefa-Clefairy-Clefable, Chansey-Blissey, Skitty-Delcaty, Mauwile, Togepi-Togetic, Azuril-Marril-Azumarril, Bellosome, Ralts-Kirlia-Gardeviour
Q-Did you plan share Fairy Type
A- Yes and No. If GameFreak give more information About Fairy Type i update them in game. But I do not add Fairy Type Pokemons to game.
Q - More pokemon in future releases would have Fairy Type?
A - I think About Snubull-Granbull and Hoppip evolution lines. Also with Roselia and Snorunt-Glaile.
Q - How teach Pokemon MoonBlast?

I think it would be nice if you first made a separate hack where you only add the Johto region and leave everything else like in the original Ruby. But you know, it's your hack, so it's just an idea. But my feeling is that most people would play your hack just for the added Johto region but mechanical changes like fairy types may not appeal to everyone.
Too good that you said that Crystal. I make an Copy beafore I add Fairy Type becouse I do not good at HEX editing. Johto region is going to good way. But I do not give you Full Johto. I have problem with one Gym Leader Sprite. I mean about WHITNEY. I can't add her becouse I do not have an free place for her sprite. Rest of Johto Gym Leaders been in the game with their oryginal Johto Gym Leader Battle music <WHich I change Team Leader theme> A lot of ask me about Team Rocket. Hmmm... If I fount what Sprites can be for two or three trainer classes I add them like a Whitney. For now I use. BUG CATCHER SPRITE which share with BugManiac <Bug Maniac sprite I use for Pryce Sprite> And HEX MANIAC share sprite with Female Psychic <Which Sprite i change to Clair Sprite> If you have idea what Sprites can share two or Three trainer classes give me answer.
I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves to add Fairy type yet. It'll be cool to add once the games are out, but I don't think we really know enough about it to do it properly yet. Just my opinion.
As I said Beafore. I uograde Fairy Type when GAMEFREAK give more informations.
Also, I was looking around in advance map and watched a couple of tutorials and it would be pretty easy for you to add a few new house styles to use in Johto. I know that, for example, the tileset used by Littleroot Town has a lot of empty tiles at the end that you can insert new house graphics in. Its also pretty easy in the block editor to add more blocks to the tileset so that you can use those. If you like, I'll convert some of the Johto-inspired buildings I made for Pokemon Acanthite into a format you can insert.
Also, just playing around with stuff, I came up with a design for those houses you see around Johto with the brown roof tiles instead of the "normal" roof tiles.
EDIT: To clarify my point a bit, take the second part of that tileset as an example:
As you can see, house styles take a very small amount of tiles in comparison. You could easily add new house styles for Johto without having to add whole new tilesets it would seem.

Yes. But for what I must add JOHTO TILESETS? Look at Pokemon HGSS. Kanto do not have special Tilesets. They share that same tileset samples like Johto. I want do that same in my hack.
