New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

Hi, I went up with the idea to offer a small EP Hack for this summer, it should be called Pokemon Tek, it's setted in a flooded forest region (that I still have to decide) and it's gonna be a GenI hack probabilly.
In this flooded forest world you begin with a surfboard, so you can cross water and travel long flooded woods, eventually going underwater in certain points (I could somehow transform the Internal Forest Palette in an underwater landscape).

You start with Poliwag, then Poliwhirl and then you can choose if evolve to Politoed or to Poliwrath.
The graphics of the pokemon will be the one of Yellow (Yes, Ole style) so I could put new pokemon easily.
There will be 190 Pokemon instead of 151, and many things will be changed.

I'm making this EP Hack because there will be some Pokemon in Pokemon Grape that you can't catch, so here's another hack from where Pokemon may be imported and traded.
Since it's gonna be set in a rainy forest, I'll call it Pokemon Tek.

Here's the cover boxart:

Pokemon Tek
(No Smoking inc. is a fictitious brand name for this Summer Hack, since woods are full of these signs, and the land is a rainy forest, then I decided for that name ;) )

Since it's not official I put it in General Discussion.

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

Thank you :)
I decided that because most of the player that want play "correctly" games without using cheats most of the times can't catch every pokemon in the game, such as the other fossil, the starters (of course) and many other.
Also, Grape hacking didn't let me the necessary space to add a RTC (Real Time Clock) that would be cool, Grape couldn't have it because the palettes are customized for the GenII Graphic patch... in this game, since you start with poliwag, you may catche the 3 starters (or buy them... haha) and may exchange them with Grape...

I decided for an EP (so a short hack) so the work wouldn't be very hard, anyway you'll find most of the features of Grape, I mean, New types, new overworlds, new graphics and new pokemon (this time it may be easier than in Grape).

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

I'll use this short hack as the Grape Password Code "distributor".

Simply you complete the very short game - yes, you challenge Elite4 BEFORE the gymleaders!
And that will be the easiest league ever with Pokemon around Level 20!!

When you beat the league, you'll have your code.
And in this EP Hack you could get, by beating the GYMs, new Pokemon that aren't in Grape!

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

And please insert music that can't be heard in Pokémon Grape and vice versa. And a full new region.

EDIT:
Oh. This will be a very small hack? Then, you only have to make a very small region. I am thinking of an island. Or, you can also put a part of the FREJO Region on the map of Pokémon Tek, which is fake (no real connections), and can't be reached in this game.

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

Hehe... sometimes I think people read my minds...

Well, this is gonna be located in an archipelago islands in South Frejo (just like the orange islands) and... there was gonna be a connection with Frejo in the south of the region... if you saw the Frejo map, you'll find a route in the very far south of the region (with one land mark), that is a Route with a cave.
Well, I already mapped in the south of that route that there's a border frontier station (closed), that in Tek will be open and you have to challenge also the local GYMleader.

Yes, it's based on a series of rainy forest islands.
Real Time clock will be supported and - that's the interesting part - I found some midis of some PS1 Games, if someone's able to convert it in Red Insruments (I asked for one of those and will be used in Grape in the NewLight Devamp studio) and I know of a tool that converts from MIDI to GSC, maybe i could use that and at last convert from GSC to RBY and use the RBY import at last.

If you can do PS2 MIDI's, please do some MIDI's from Road Trip Adventure (ChoroQ HG *something*).

I found only very few PS2 midis, all games from 2000\2001.
ChoroQ... you mean Gadget Racers (aka Penny Racers) series game?

No. I mean Road Trip Adventure. It's a Japanese game from 2002, which is released here in 2003.

I have, like I did for Pokémon Grape, a devamped cover art, which you can use. I will post it tomorrow, because I will sleep now.

...why should I repeat the same things twice?
This is a hack idea!
And it's in a very early state!

THIS IS A PROJECT!!!!
Otherwise, why put it here in General Discussion?

@AtecainCorp
Oh, beside that, here's the answer. And from Eighty-C. Four Words.

WELCOME IN SOUTH FREJO:
Pokemon Tek

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

I've lost interest in the Pokemon Tek project...

... because it's only a spin-off linked with Frejo and not his real sequel (it's like comparing Violet to Brown, same thing, the regions are connected but not much the story...)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the projects if someone wishes develope it for a hack (but credit me, please).

Here's the South Frejo Islands Map if you're interested:

South Frejo

The upper part of land is Main Frejo land, it's a bit changed, but you could eventually recognise the 2 towns in the north-west as 2 Frejo Towns with their routes, there's also an extra route unused in Grape located in the south of these 2 towns, it's connected with the route mark tile (that area is actually used in Grape), in the south there's South Frejo Islands and in the North-East there's a part of the Region of Altek (the region of my GenIII Hack), it's full of rivers and towns, the Elite4 city is located in the east part of the lake.
The upper town in the west zone of the lake is Quartz Town.

The only places with a name assigned are:
+ the two towns of Frejo Mainland, from left to right their names are Silten City and Gondwan City;
+ obviously Quartz Town;
+ Elite Fortress (the E4 City);
+ Lime Town (the eastern city);
+ Glimmer (the city in the big island located in the south-east);
+ Uri Tunnel (the sea dot near the space between Gondwan City & Quartz Town);
+ National Tunnel (the route dot down Gondwan City);
+ OUTER HEAVEN -Fortress- (the land mark near the lake);
+ Lauras Forest (the route dot in the left of Silten City);
+ Power Plant (the northern sea dot);

You could explore all:
+ South Frejo;
+ the part of Frejo in the Map exept Silten City (you travel around his hinterland), Lauras Forest, the National Tunnel and the water route in the north of Gondwan City - you could enter in the Power Plant of frejo and catch Zapdos (Could I cause, by catching Zapdos, a Time Paradox? No.)
+ the 4 towns of Altek linked with routes;
+ Outer Heaven.

A map of towns and places and the Red relative places that could be changed:
Places

and here's a map of your path direction and gym orders + HM locations:
Paths

Since the adventure paths aren't complicated (like instead in Red, Brown, Grape etc.), the journey is mostly straightforward, the final project isn't so short, so I should call it "LP" instead of "EP (Short Hack)".

Dont misunderstand me:
I DIDN'T asked to make a hack for me, never mind!!!!

I only said if someone likes it and has no idea for a region and organization of it, he\she could use this - after crediting me for the idea and for the Frejo Maps when he\she must put those inside the hack.

I don't think someone now could be interested, but if you are, contact me, but have a strong decision and not a weak one like mine for this spin-off hack (I've got more important hacks to do at the moment...)

Re: New Summer Hack Idea - Pokemon Tek

How can someone completely lose interest in something from one day to another? That's something I can't understand.

On the other hand, your maps look like the way I organize connections and plot events.

I've lost interest for this:

Yes, I gave up after that quote because it's true.

This game ain't so great, plus it isn't of the main series of my custom saga of pokemon...
It was meant only for the password of the archive (that I'll put somewhere else and with a different method) and for let the player catch all the 220 pokemon in Grape.
I know some hacks born referecing to other hacks Regions (like Violet), but I think this may became another one of my scrapped hack projects... I started change a bit Blue (tilesets, player), the I've read that post and thought "darn, this is true(...) but at least let's show 'em the region and the gameplay!"

r.i.p. Pokemon Tek, Grape and Power are more important.
