Thanks for letting me know. If only I could figure out where the pointer is for that part of the bg map on the darn title screen. I trying to figure it out as quickly as I can and correct it so the game will be problem free. ;)

Shanem,in the italian hack,can we consider inserting all the sounds and places as they're in japanese?because,in my japanese pokemon red cartridge,i went to the city where surge is and in a house there was a different Non-Playable-Character compared to a screenshot of red and blue i saw.

Why don't you take some mere minutes, do a bit of research and find it yourself? When and how are the tiles corresponding to the image written to the BG? Where does that data come from? How did that data end up being at that position and not a tile to the right or left? You'd end up with this:

That took me literally 5 minutes with BGB. I just moved the Pokémon and the sprite. The scrolling difference is noticeable but probably neglectable for your purposes.

This issue has now been resolved thanks to some help from the chat room. I now understand how the bg map works.

RC is release candidate, something programmers release as possible final releases, or even betas. I plan for my RC3 to feature the changed PKMN sprites.


Midori 1.1 is Japanese Pokemon Green, version 1.1


Version 1.0 has the creepy Lavender town music, while 1.1 fixed it.

If you want to find it, try Googling: Pocket Monsters - Midori (Japan) (Rev A) (SGB Enhanced).gb

If you need more help, just let me know. :)

1.0 and 1.1 have the same music,perhaps just changed a layer but it's not the version themoneyoftheworld wants you to insert,shanem (that version is fan made about the creepypasta).something else was fixed i believe (to exist a 1.1 something has to be changed,no?)
I won't even repoint text if i can't figure out You-Know-What,dear shanem.found some interesting thing in youtube and mailed ya,that thing exists in the coding.

To anyone: i'm not telling what I need to re-insert in green to not have unwanted bad comments.but,if you wish,i'll tell you privately what me and shanem mean ;)

I don't know what is changed between 1.0 and 1.1,but the rumor saying 'v1.0 isn't anymore available' is fake,it was made to guaarantee a long life span to the creepypasta.that's why they name a japanese version and a beta.for the originality's sake,i'm searching the offsets of japanese green's music and sound so i'll change music in blue

It may indeed SOUND the same, but the coding is different. The v1.0 is slightly higher pitch, and is only noticeable by children. That sound making them depressed is just a rumor.

Alright boy and girls,

Here is RC2.

List of changes:

1. Fixed SCX value on Title Screen.

2. Imported stag019's GB-Z80 routine to ease the insertion of all 151 Pokemon sprites.

3. Fixed Global Checksum with build.

4. Expanded the ROM to 4MB, because I felt like it.

5. Corrected Grammatical errors in the Pokedex. (All were translated from Green Jap.)

6. Fixed the Internal Checksum 0x14D and cart size 0x148 for the 256 banks.

I tested it and it seems stable. Even the ghost sprite works. If you find any bugs, please report it/them to me. Thanks. :)

.jar users: I am having trouble making a .jar from the sticky on this forum. If you want it, give me instructions of an ONLINE site to do it.

I used a Gameshark code to test the ghost sprite; RC3 will have all 151 sprites from Green. :)

There's no real need to test the ghost sprite- it's the same in every Generation I game.

The fossil Kabutops and Aerodactyl sprites were different in the original Red and Green, though:

Oh... I almost forgot to mention that I did the Unknown Dungeon to match Green Japan. I did this
through GB-Z80 ASM.

This is on the current RC2 release.

Small update:

V2.1

1. Fixed the SCX table values.

2. Made Green a five-tile word on 'Names Display List'. (It looks better now.)

The next release WILL have all 151 sprites from Green. :)

It has been brought to my attention that the trade in Vermilion City has a different trainer sprite. I have changed it to match Green Japan. This has been fixed and will be available in RC3. Thank you for reading. :)

Bulbasaur is finished 01/151 so far. It will be finished over the next few weeks and released on here as RC3. :)

You could do it in a few minutes with the disassembly… all the Red/Green pics are even extracted in their compressed form already.
