[POKEMON RBY] Strange... But Intresting Question.

I've seen here Battle Scene colorization for Pokemon RBY. But as their Colorization is existed. It is possible to add to that rom SHINY pokemon? That would be nice having red and meet RED GYARADOS XD.

Yeah... it is possible, just like porting over any other feature pokemon yellow, gold, silver, crystal or for example some Zelda gameboy boy has in it.

Debugging, assembly editing, and such will lead the way into the right end result.

It would be Nice... I also seen here a full Overworld Colorization Source Code. If you want. <Becouse I download it to my PC and I've seen that thread is earsed> I can send you to your E-Mail that code. That can make fully colorized Pokemon Red Rom.

Both 'em worked on the same Idea and they realized two different hacks, but these are in GBC format, not in GB format, I've got the FroggestSpirit's one, that hacks colorized the whole game, not only the overworld, but... it's possible color ONLY the overworlds and gave it differents colors (red, green, ble, yella, brown, white, black, orange & purple) just like in GSC?
It would be nice.

I have Koolboyman Source. I try patch that file using BATTLE COLORIZATION PATCH... And that was failed. I don't know how adress I must to go in ASM. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ASM.

I don't think anyone has the interest to start building a code for loading shiny pokemon in R/B from scratch.
And why would you even need shiny pokemon in the hack? It's not like it'd really make the gameplay any better.

Still, if you want to include such thing in there, learn how to program with GB assembly first.

I thought someone already tried it, because I saw many randomizer hacks that randomized and changed pokemon palettes also giving in different cases different palettes to the same pokemon in different cases.

A trainer\gymleader\e4 with a shiny pokemon makes a very good effect, plus a RBY hack with shinies was never done, it would be the first time - it means something very new & special, why couldn't I have shiny pokemon in my rby hack then?
Is something that I shouldn't feature?
Oh c'mon, everyone likes shiny, if this wasn't been true, then nobody would have caught red gyarados in GSC.

I'm too busy right now, I post only when I have time, I'll get in asm & disassembly from August coz i'm busy as hell with school.

But I think is a bit hard to do, yes, but since Nintendo created GS based on RBY, there's a way to make it.

Truth. In first Idea Pokemon Gold would been in YELLOW ENGINE. Pokemon gold introduce Shinies. That I think as battle system from Pokemon RBY and GSC are That same. Meybe it was possible to port SHINY code from Pokemon GSC to RBY. But for two Pokemon. I think that those formes should be shiny form. I think about CRYSTAL ONIX <And make Crystal Steelix><I do that in my POKEMON DIRTY SUN HACK. I change shiny graphics for Crystal look like> And Spiky Eared Pichu <And make full spiky eared Pkmn>

In gs it checks the ram if it is bit7, if yes shiny pokemon will appear, so what i mean, find the routine for pallete for pokemon, then extend it . I will personally will write
ld hl,&;pointer (1st pal)
fa xx yy - ram( check if "7")
cb 26 -(i'll check it late if it is right)
28 03 - jump 3 bytes ahead
ld hl,&;pointer (2nd pal)

But I didn't mean put shiny pokemon as physical Rom pokemon, but the routine that could make a random wild pokemon shiny and, eventually a callasm (sorry, I have only GBA scripting knowledge) that calls the shiny routine for some trainer's pokemon, just like the burglar in FR\LG or the Red Gyarados in GSC.
