Re: Pokemon Grape

I can use that cover with some modifies for an extra screen in the future... anyway thanks.

I think 3 screens may slow down the action because you have to wait until all the 3 screens pass away.
Anyway, Maybe I'll put this third one just after the second one with Grape on the telephone, after you press A button.
After that here's the normal intro with the nintendo screen + years and then movie as usual.
This contains credits & the Skeetendo Logo:

That looks pretty nice. I have one notition: My name is in capitals: "YORAMRW".
Is it a problem for the final game that my name doesn't contain lower case?

This is just an image made with paint, I haven't put inside the rom it yet, don't worry.

Yeah, that's what you said. It's pixelart. I wish you success with Pokémon Grape.

Yes, he's Grape, the protagonist.
Where's located the original player's sprite in the Red Rom?
I need to compress it before inserting it in the rom, I need the details, please.

Look at DataCrystal > Pokémon Red and Blue: ROM Map, and try to find the offset of the trainer sprite. If it's not told in details, you could look for it around the told offset with a tile editor, like Tile Layer Pro.

I think that image is actually compressed, so it won't look as usual using tlp (yes, I already have the Rom & Ram Maps, these were, and are still, indispensable 4 hacking!)

Re: Pokemon Grape

Ok, for the trainer I'll check later.

I've got a more uregent problem for a map repointing:
here's the quote:

80C wrote:

I discovered where's the problem!

I need add the Maps Text Pointers of Route 15 & the Maps "Script" and their pointers, I know how to set the pointers in the Map Header,

But I absolutely need to know where are located in the Red Rom the maps text pointers of Route 15 and the maps script of route 15 so I could add them just after the Map Data (the tiles' placement) and the job is done!

Ok, maps' progress advanced, now these routes & Cities are complete (ORIGINAL RED NAME:)
In Order of building date:

-Pallet Town;
-Route 1;
-Viridian City (NOT GYM YET);
-Route 22;
-Unused\cut Town;
-????? #01 (NO SPOILER)
-Route 8;
-Mt.Moon (9\10 done);
-Route 7;
-Route 2 (9\10 done);
-Underground Paths (9\10 done);
-Route 18;

-Route 15 in progress, almost complete but there's that bug...
I hope it will be solved.

And earlier I sounded a bit emotionless and I forget to mention it, but this looks great so far! :)

You really ought to use stag019's Generation I Graphics Compressor. It's much more efficient.
Between these two threads, you should have all of the information you need to replace the trainer sprite. Just be patient with reading carefully and taking the time to understand.

The Image is the following:
Grape Trainer Sprite

Please Help Me.

EDIT:
Oh, maybe I did it, but the colors are mispelled: Black lines are pink...

Why the two colors are exchanged?
The Sprite has pink borders & black body!
It seems in negative, it's terrible!

Could soemone help me by explaining what I have to do to avoid thid bug?

Here is Eterna City/Celestic Town music for the Game Boy [Pokémon Red & Blue].
Everybody may feel free to compile this song into their Gen I (or II, if it works) Pokémon ROM hack, but credit me.

Re: Pokemon Grape

I have 2 Changes to do:

1-Where's located the Sprite of the Logo Screen's Red in the ROM?
I should replace it;

2-Can I assign a new sprite to the Chief?
I wanna put the Silph's Chief back unlike the original Red, but instead of the Silph's Chief I wanna put a strange guy, here's him [warning: spoiler]:

Gustav the Chief

And how to assign him the red & skin palette like these with the Danny E-33's patch?

I believe you can find it in TLP. I'm not entirely sure though, I never hacked Red.

Re: Pokemon Grape

Yes, I fixed it and it worked, for unknown reasons, lite shadow & lines were exchanged (maybe's the patch or the palette of TileM, I dunno).

I hope Gustav's sprite (yeah, spoiler, it's the replacing character for the Chief) is good, I hope I could insert that in Grape & then assign it to the Chief Class (the storyline is not so easy, in fact, is a bit more dept than usual).

I expressed myself badly before, for my second question:
I meant Red (Ash), the Trainer, the trainer's sprite that appears in the Pokemon Logo Screen.
Understood now?

Re: Pokemon Grape

I was interested in one thing:
I wanted insert a re-make in GB format of the following soundtrack in Pokemon Red replacing the Logo Screen's Music, this re-make belongs to Telefang 1, but I wanted make it a bit faster, just like in Pokemon Diamond Bootleg.

Here's a sample (normal velocity):
http://youtu.be/pTLhdKmHCGs
Could a bit faster version of that be cool in Pokemon Grape's Logo Screen?

Re: Pokemon Grape

It's pretty cool to insert this music in the Title Screen. The problem is: I don't know the offset of the title screen music. I think that if you want to put this music in the game, it's too much work to redo the whole song. I should try to dump the song from the Telefang ROM, and try to put it in your ROM hack. (Always backup your ROM hack if you do something that can corrupt your hack.) I don't think that it works with directly copy-paste. Pokémon games have their own sound engine, so I think you have to build the general sound engine in a free space and repoint it for playing songs from other GB(C) games.

Re: Pokemon Grape

Yeah, it would be amazing!
So with that method I could insert extra sounds!
So the Rom could play new sounds if I insert a new engine!
But how to distinguish in which engine the soundtrack should be played?

Re: Pokemon Grape

I don't know. What I know: Here is a GBS file of the Telefang music.
The song you want to insert is song 33. You have to convert the GBS file to a playable Game Boy ROM with GBS2GB.exe. I think that the GBS player uses it's own sound engine, which the GBS dump of Pokémon Red/Blue also uses.
