Does anyone want to work on a pokemon spritesheet done in paint? here are some:

These take like 2 minutes to do. That's the key. They look goofy, that's also the key.
If you ask yourself "why should this be done, why should we do this, or just why?"
then ask yourself "Why not?"
Also, max sprite size shall be 56x56 for front sprites, and 48x48 for backsprites
save in bmp or png format. 2 colors may be used at max (black and white are always allowed)
Top 3 contributors are currently:

Narfnara: 10
Jxv: 5
When you post your front and backsprite, if it meets requirements, it will be saved, and you will be credited.
Any sprite here will be free to use for anyones hacks, and a zip folder containing all images and the credits will be posted upon completion.

Ok, here's my try. I drew this in few minutes using touchpad lol:
Edit: Ah I see it doesn't match quite well to yours because I tried to draw shades. I can try again though ;p

actually, I like it!
I guess the only rules as for saving it are that it is png or bmp, and that it is 56x56 max frontsprite, or 48x48 max backsprite, and stays within the 4 color limit (black and white being two of those)
I see you did that, and once the ball gets rolling, maybe I can start adding them all to the first post, so people can see what is done, and what needs to be done :)

Why you wish only 4 colors. In this way people can't made great artwork. Or can?

Because in order to insert them in the game, they need to follow these guidelines.

Because Pokemon sprites can only use 4 colours in Gen I and II.
On a related note, here is a Pikachu I did to contribute.

I like that one too! also, it might help to do a quick backsprite too, have it use the same colors. Whenever someone posts one of a front and backsprite, I'll add it to the first post, and credit you

Anyway in pokemon gen 2 games all pokemon looks realy great. Ther is more than 4 colors becase if I remember correct one color changes tones then that it is another color like -blue-dark blue...

Here's my take 2 on Geodudes. This time, I tried to 'fit in' with the style:

No, all Pokemon only use 4 colours. This is a limit of the gameboy hardware. In Pokemon sprites, one colour has to be black, and one has to be white. They sometimes use two shades of the same colour (light blue and dark blue) and sometimes they use different colours (brown and pink, in pidgey). The real difference is the amount of effort we are putting into them. If you take the time, you can make sprites that look good with 4 colours (because Gamefreak did- and we do too when we try) but the whole point of these is to make them look sloppy if I read correctly.

Wow, this is something I might actually try to do (when I get home). I'm a horrible artist, but these don't look too far off from what I can do. Cool.
You can try to hide yourself in this world of pretend; when the paper's crumpled up, it can't be perfect again.

This thread reminds me of some of the Vending Machine Promo cards in Japan, particularly the Imakuni? ones.

Lol I was planning on doing a hack with them possibly. Though right now, id say focus on gen 1 & 2, but after that, we might as well go for every gen! also, just remember, 56x56 max for front sprite, and 48x48 for back. I'll add some to the original post, so if you plan to do one, it might be easier to see what still isnt done

For added lulz, we should do trainers too.
