Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

That does indeed sound very handy. Now does this tool allow you to script and insert trainer battles? Because if so that definitely makes things a little quicker since I have until tomorrow to finish my Valentine's Day hack lol

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

Basically, you just tell it where to load the script from and it lets you edit it. So if you wanted to add a new trainer, you could have their script point to some blank space, load that blank space in the editor, and fill in the 00s with the data for your new trainer. If you were doing that, it even tells you the offset of the byte immediately after his "script" so you can tell his "script when won/talked to again" to point to that so you can keep everything together. Its a very basic tool, it doesn't calculate pointers for you, it is basically designed to present everything in a trainer's "script" in the order it is in the rom, but labeled as to what it is and things so that it will make you less likely to make a mistake from looking at the wrong byte or counting the wrong number of bytes to get to one of the values. Its by no means perfect, but it helps out a bit. Basically I just made it to make my life easier and so I plan on sharing it for the same reason.

@Virus95x - No problem!

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

Could you do this so it works on the mac (wineskin)? Like mega map 1.7 does work for me when using wineskin and would like to have this available too:) would save much time messing abouts if you can of course.

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

Hey Akwa, I've been having some trouble with this program as of late. For some reason, a large portion of the trainers I edited didn't change and when I reload the file sometimes some of my changes are gone. It's not that I'm forgetting to save after each alteration; I've checked that: it's just kind of weird. A few of my later changes remain as expected.

Also, I think your program doesn't always close properly. The program seems to keep running in the background sometimes, just without the gui.

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

Are you using it in tandem with other programs?

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

narfnrara, if you are sure you don't use multiple tools in parallel, e-mail me your rom file and short description of actions which lead to this bug.
As to second problem, I'll take a look.

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

It's probably just the fact that I've been using multiple programs on this rom, then. Nevermind.

(thanks by the way, the program is very well done)

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

The problem is that each tool saves its own version of the rom based on what it looked like when you opened it. When you use a bunch of different tools at the same time, they overwrite the changes the others made. In the end only the most recent program you saved with is counted.

Ah, I recall that. In that case, I probably just had something else lingering in the background and wasn't paying attention. Thanks.

"Add Trainer"

Thank goodness! Akwa - You are my true hero! For hundreds of hours we have edited trainers into hex, wasted a lot of time to improve our games. Now our life is so much easier. Thank you so much for this tool!

Now we only need a "Add room" button for JohtoMap and our life is complete! ;-)

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

I having a weird issue with the index on the program.

Everything seems to work fine but for whatever reason,
the Twins trainer type doesn't seem to load properly,
I've gone through the data looking for any issues but I haven't found any problems.

Also, other programs don't have any issues finding the data so I'm just confused.

Any thoughts?

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

99% that trainer data is messed up. Unless you provide some more info, that is the reason. Bad pointers (eg. pointing to middle of other trainer class) or trash bytes = bugs.

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

this is strange; the program does not load for me, I click on it, and it does run, but it stays in the Task Manager for like a minute, but the program itself never actually shows up, and then it suddenly disappears. what is going on..?

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I'm having the same issue.

I open the program, but nothing happens. It appears in the Task Manager, and then again with a bit more CPU usage before they both close. Is there a fix to this?

Re: The One GSC Trainer Editor 1.0

does if I add new trainer on Pkmn Prof. will make the game crash?
