Hi!
Has anybody here some experience with programming EPROMS. I don't own nor plan to buy a programmer but think of ordering preprogrammed EPROMS. Therefore a "binary file" is required. Just to go sure. Is this file what we usually call a rom (1:1 copy of the chip)? I own an EMS USB flash cart, that doesn't have a RTC and sometimes tends to corrupt savegames, which is pretty annoying. So I wanted to find out wether I could manage to solder a EPROM, that might contain a worthy hack, onto an original G/S cartridge. It's for private purposes and for "the challenge". I do not intend to sell pirated games. There most probably is no market for that anyway. Anymore.

Most of the better gsc hacks use MBC5 (instead of the original cart's MBC3), so they'd be better off on your flash cart.

I've never heard of this. Gold/Silver are originally MBC3 cartridges and MBC5 cartridges don't have a clock. If you wanted to use the advantages of the MBC5 (size) cartidge, you would have to change the rom header and the parts of the game's engine dealing with RTC features.

Yes. Many hacks like Prism do this.

Now that you mention it. Prism really is 4MB in size. Which others do you know?
