Pika Map help

I've always wanted to walk westward of Pallet Town/Route 1 in Pokemon Yellow (the first game I ever played) and used to imagine there was a little bit of Johto hidden there.

I tried expanding Pallet Town and Route 1 using Pikamap, but when I saved it, and played, it got all scrambled. :(

Is there a way to expand the maps, add maps, fill the space on the west side of kanto or whatever?

I'd like to have atleast like secret entrance on the other side to lets say an undergound path and then take me to what would be the route to what would be silver cave... just so it can be like a pokemon yellow upgrade.

Another think I was wondering.. how in the world did koolboyman add 70 new pokemon into pokemon brown? I wish I could do something like that...

Edit: you know what nevermind, I'll settle with the trick I did here and call it a day :P

Re: Pika Map help

Not sure about the map expansion, but koolboyman inserted the 70 new pokemon by replacing the missingos in the game

I don't calculate stat values, I don't breed my way to perfection, and I don't care about natures. I catch my Pokemon the way they are, and treat them like individuals instead of brainless drones.

Re: Pika Map help

I'm so used to editors that do all the hex-editing work for you, like PokeEdit... lol

I guess if really want to hack certain things, I have to learn hex editing.. oh well :P

Edit: I was doing some experimenting with pokemon brown using gameshark and found that C7 is the final pokemon hex code (following the pattern of the sequence of codes). The weird thing is that it's identical to 66 (Eevee).

I made a list of all the pokemon hex codes up to C7 (everything else seems like trainer encounters)
http://www.rijon.com/forums/threads/hex … n-brown.8/

I didn't seem to find Tryanitar. I either missed something by mistake or it's hidden among the list of trainer hex codes.. weird thing is there were some glitch trainer battles where trainers looked like Slowking and I even saw one that was a Lugia, but it's set up like a glitchy trainer battle that crashes the game.

Re: Pika Map help

I think Coolboyman may have actually moved some of the bytes that were assigned to things around, since originally some of the trainers showed up earlier in the list (pokemon and trainers shared the same identifier table in red for some reason) he moved them to the end and filled up the slots with pokemon

Re: Pika Map help

Something like that ^^ but also a lot of the missingnos are replaced by certain Pokemon...Also, this is a Gb/Gbc hacking forum, you really should know hex editing...
Also, your Hex Code document is missing a lot of other Pokemon because they're all in the Trainer Data section, or listed as ????? (such as Phanpy, Donphan, Togekiss, and Electivre)

Yeah, I noticed that as I tried more of the codes, but I sort of gave up on testing them and didn't record them all. :P
