Request from Mateo:

Can you try to make a ROM hack that you can as much work into it, just like Koolboyman.

No offense, you're good, but... I just don't see much work, compared to Koolboyman.

Re: Request from Mateo:

Um...I don't know how anyone that's told this can not take offense to that statement.  One of the things I really don't like are people who say "No offense" when it's pretty impossible not to take offense.  Everyone in this hacking community has to learn how to do something before they can do it.  They just can't do it because someone wants that person's hack to be better.  Remember, a hack is not bad just because you can't mine ore like in Prism or it doesn't have custom music.  Remember, everything produced and released on this forum is the result of a person's hobby.  They don't have to make hacks at all.

I've also seen him say "Yeah, I'm just gonna skip that >_>" when I told him to look at a thread or use the 'search' function. He also apparently doesn't realize that sending a direct message to someone is supposed to be done via email/private message. But since he did it here, it gives me the chance to report the post (like I did) instead of just emailing him back.

Oh, you reported it?  I've only used the Report function to report spam, but I guess now it's being used for what it's really supposed to be used for.

Yep. I reported it (and I've reported other pointless threads) in an effort to have them locked or deleted.

I was thinking after his first post in this thread: "If Mateo was still an admin, this thread probably wouldn't even exist anymore." :P

Okay, I think I'll stop posting now.

Well, you got to remember, I'm much better at causing the most glitched up glitches, by hacking the memory, than I am with ROM hacking. And, my personal opinion, I don't mean to rude but, I don't see what's that great about ROM hacking, unless if you completely change it (like Prism), then it is with compared to deadly glitches, that no one else has the skill of. (like me) Plus, who doesn't like watching horror movies, that's kinda what Creepypasta is like, everyone loves Creepypasta. However, it's a bit different with Gaming Creepypastas, then verses, like an example, uh... SpongeBob Creepypasta, well, that's the example of TV Show / Cartoon Creepypastas.

Yes, because it takes lots of knowledge to know how to crash/glitch a game.

And if only completely changed games are good hacks, then everyone else on this forum that likes the hacks that are not complete overhauls (Pokemon Bronze, Christmas Hack, SaR) must be wrong about their opinion on how the game is so good.

I love how you completely missed the point I was making. But since you brought that up, let me address those points as well.
1) Congratulations. You can open up memory viewer, type in random shit, and make the game crash. My cat can do that too if I opened memory viewer for him.
2) There are different kinds of hacks than just total transformation hacks like Prism. Some are designed to be sequels, some just add difficulty and some just add new features while keeping a similar feel. Different people enjoy making (and playing) different types of hacks. If you don't, that's fine.
3) Nobody mentioned creepypasta hacks at all. As for Horror movies that you compared them to, sure I watch them, but I can't remember the last time I was "scared" by one. They are predictable and stupid these days. Everyone was in the theatre screaming and pissing themselves over "Paranormal Activity" a few years ago, and I was laughing and saying "Bet you a million bucks this happens..." As such, I don't really care about Creepypasta hacks either.

Thank you, sir. Haha.

EDIT: Also Chowdit, to better answer your original question. The honest reasons my hacks aren't more like Prism.

1) I am a noob when it comes to Assembly Language, and not as skilled as Koolboyman. But I am trying to learn.
2) I have a tendency to be lazy and don't want to design an entirely new region. (Because I know I will end up slacking on it before it is finished or something. Would you rather have a new story that gets finished, or a new region that ends up dying?).
3) I would currently rather focus on expanding and telling a new story in an old region. Gen II is my favorite generation, and Johto is my favorite region.

Well, I was wondering when someone would finally go and post a response like this.  But I still think the post is a bit harsh.

Re: Request from Mateo:

This thread makes me laugh so hard. Chowdit, you are hilarious my friend. In fact you remind me of myself, well sorta. When I first came here I asked a ton of questions, but unlike you I actually put the answers I was given to some use to benefit from something I watned to create. I learned some on my own and many people helped guide me in the right direction in helping me learn more on my own. I've even wrote a couple of tutorials based on what I learned by myself. But you are not doing anything, you want everything given to you and then proceed to down everyone's hard work who has actually taken the time to learn things and put it to use. You are being a fool, we've tried helping you on more than one occasion. But I'm thinking you're a troll because you're not doing anything but getting on people's nerves. Here are two threads that should get you started. One of them I took the time to put things together for people like you.

Global FAQ and Resource
My resource thread

Now you either be productive or leave. Sorry If im harsh but this is getting annoying.

Re: Request from Mateo:

you've got some conversation here aren't yah?well,im starting to think that chowdit is a 5th grader student that has the spirit or rather guts to ask and make a thread each and everytime he thought of something, not to be rude on you chowdit but can you please make yourself rather appropriate for everyone here?you pisses them off with every single thing you do here.as i recount the things you'd just ask,all of them were answered several times accordingly giving you the links and such, right?right now it gives me loads of laugh reading the comments of everybody talking and trying to give some decent answer about your nonsense or rather too ignorant question.like mateo and munchulax,im imagining them as talking to each other infront of your face, haha!im sorry for that, peace:)

Re: Request from Mateo:

Now Chowdit, I understand that you are 14. I'm sure I coulbe be annoying when I was your age too, and I asked a lot of questions and things. But like tysonrss, I listened when people explained things to me, I took notes, and I tried to take people's advice - because I was actually interested in learning how to make hacks. All I have seen you do is ignore us when we try to give you advice. It comes down to this: Either you want to learn or you don't. If you actually want to learn, we will help you. If you don't want to learn, why do you keep asking questions just to ignore the answers?
