Map Connections GSC

I haven't posted here in a long time, and I remember over a year ago(can't believe its been that long)I lit up the help section and learned a lot(but now I should probably review those threads to remember some things, I mostly remember the scripting parts..which is good)but I have hardly found any explanations on map connections. This is what made me quit my hack, it became too stressful, dealing with Cerulean City and all four connections..it was just madness.

But I want to revisit the hack. So um...could someone kindly explain map connections and how to work them?

All I can say is, mess around with the map connections according to the tutorial I've written (based on RBYG Map Header documentation) and see why original map connections work the way they do. Once you know, you're ready for trying to create connections of your own.

You can find the Global FAQ and Resource thread in Cross gen section by jwibagi or kkj1116 that I feel like calling him instead. That tutorial of mine along with all the other important stuff is linked there.

Ha... I was just about to make this thread. I was working on a program to connect maps, and I made a version to do it in batches by defining what maps in a text file... but the only thing that I still don't really get, is how to calculate the CSUBP. Some equations I tried work, while others dont. I think what we need to know, is where the map data of a new map is loaded in memory... or better yet, if we can just have CSUBP point to the RAM instead?

I think I got it mostly down now. padz helped me understand a lot of it. I think the CSUBP equations i have are off by a few... but surprisingly, with all the equations I used, I managed to link up RBY kanto in GSC. There's still a few errors i need to manually fix, but that's probably about 10 connections or so out of the many there. I still wonder what happens if you point the CSUBP to the ram... hmmmm...
