Cry Editor GSC
A cry editor for Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions!
Version 2.0 Download As: Zip
As you can see, this lets you edit the base cry, the length, echo, pitch, all the information that makes up a Pokémon's cry. Very useful for adding new Pokémon to your hack.
It has been tested on Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions and should be bug-free. If you find one let me know.
New to Version 2.0- Support for Crystal, added About dialog, nicer GUI with easy to use slider bars to adjust the values instead of the old plain-hex entry boxes.

Glad to help guys. Need to re-install VB so I can get back to making tools. While the tool is still working fine and hasn't changed any, I just realized that screenshot is from before I upgraded from Vista to XP. lol

Slightly off‐topic, but I would love to see someone make an editor for the actual waveform of the base cry.
That would be pretty legit. If I knew the format and location I might take a shot at it, but as if right now, this editor does all I know how to do.

slightly off topic but what is the best gbc emulator with sound, as i want to use this tool but obviously need an emulator with sound, Thanks ☺

I wouldn’t call VBA the best, only the most popular. Its emulation can be pretty inaccurate (especially with sound, just listen to Link’s Awakening).
The most accurate ones I know of are Gambatte and KiGB. But you probably won’t go too wrong with VBA either, at least for Pokémon. Plus VBA has some debugging features the others don’t (memory map, palette viewer, etc).
i've gone for VBA, i used to use it a while back but i saw a post about No$GMC or something like that and thought...ermmm i wonder what the best is for this kind of stuff, but in the end i have gone with VBA :D

nice, make it easier to edit cry :/

the program would be alot easier if there was some kind of sample button :-/

As of right now, a sample button is not possible. I don't know where each of the base cries are stored or how to read and play them back, sadly. It would certainly be nice though.

Awwww, bummer, it would have been a good idea ☺

Indeed it would have. Would make everyone's life easier, especially if it also had the ability to edit the base cries themselves like iimarckus suggested.

it would be pretty amazing ☺ but overall its a good program anyway, you don't have to put these changes onto the program to make it successful :D

Quick question: Were I to add a new Pokemon, how would I use this tool to edit the cry since it will only cycle through the 251 currently in existence? (planning on adding Missingno. with the messed up Zapdos cry)
Nice tool by the way. I always thought a lot of the Pokemon sounded similar, now I know why :)

I'd search for the bytes of Celebi so that you'd find the offset for Missignos (252-255) easily --> 0xF2D29

And I'd just hex edit it then? Thanks!

excellent. I didn't know I could do that. Do you have other programs? do you know how to make the AGIXP work on windows xp?

The threads in the tools section talk about what I had to do to get it to work on XP the only times I've had trouble (usually I haven't though).

I really need to go through and check these old threads and fix any dead links. But glad you found the one hosted on Swampert tools. It should be the same version as this.
