Tackle this in a different way

Maybe Im just being a bit naive. I am the only one who is working on this hack, solo. Maybe this could be easier if I was to ask if anyone could help me out on this mod. Like scripting, I know basics of, but as you can tell by the threads and posts, it is really evading me. Maybe I can ask of someone who could help me out with some scripting parts, as well as help me make new maps for existing areas, like Cerulean Cave in Cerulean City and all that. I mean, I don't think many people could tackle doing hacks by themselves and if they can, then God bless them XD

So does anyone wanna try and help me out in some degree on this?

Re: Tackle this in a different way

This might belong in the Help section... :)
If you are trying to recreate Cerulean cave, have you tried (this is a very simple way of doing it, but hey, isn't that what you're asking for?) taking one warp from Cerulean, and changing its warp point to say, Silver Cave. Obviously with this method you would be replacing Cerulean Cave with Silver Cave.

Here are the steps you would do in order. (if this is off, or incorrect or whatever, someone please let me know and why, it's just a brainstorm)

-Map the exterior of Cerulean Cave in Cerulean City
-take the warp from the burglarized house and change it to the warp point of Silver Cave's data. (you can do this in Johtomap)
-make sure they are correct and, voila?

I'm going from memory here, but the warp data in Johtomap is something like this:
selected warp #
map #
bank #         (map and bank might be reversed)

Just make sure the numbers are correct and you'll have a recreation of cerulean cave. I did this a long time ago in a doodle hack to create another section of the Dragon's Den.

You say you want someone to essentially tutor you? Well, it's very useful for me to try to explain things to someone else after I've learned them because it reinforces them. I may be able to help you down the line. Not currently, regularly anyway, because I'm on holiday in Europe.
