Help dealing with sprites bigger than 56x56

Okay I just did this Meganium devamp I wanna put into Gold, only problem is that its 50 x 78. How would I go about making it at 56x56 in order to meet the size for the game? I can't just shrink it down to it or the pixels would get messed up and at places they shouldn't be, I can shave any of the background off since its down as far as I can get it.

Any suggestions?

Try harder shrinking the sprite. Or learn ASM and modify the game engine to make it load larger sprites. This latter option is not only more time consuming, but also probably hardly feasable because the GBC screen is quite small: the battle screen would look pretty cluttered.
