Pokemon Zephyr

Important: The ability to summon Celebi will require a Master Ball! Until I add the download for an ElectrikeInc Event (like Mystery Gift in later games), you will not be able to get Celebi if you zip through and use your Master Ball! You will be able to get a Master Ball to do the event from the start, but it is reccomended that you just save your current one (unless you find a Shiny, or something that you cannot rebattle and are unable to capture otherwise)

Hack Name: Pokemon Zephyr

Hack of: Gold

Introduction

Featuring some new sprites, never-before seen Gym maps, and routes based on Australia and New Zealand, this hack takes the plot of Gold and puts it in a brand-new Pokemon world!

Storyline

This hack takes place in Johto! In it, you play as a Gold, who gets their first Pokémon from Professor Elm. In the revamped Johto with different routes and different Pokemon, you have to face Team Rocket, who is planning to take over the two regions Kanto and Johto. Defeat Team Rocket, tail the Legendary Beasts and catch Ho-Oh while journeying through the Johto Region and exploring jungles, mountains and deserts in this wonderful, action packed adventure!

Changes

- New sprites (Completed, insertion coming soon!)
- Changed maps (WIP, inserted as completed!)
- Different tiles (Completed, insertion coming soon!)
- Rarer Pokemon towards the beginning (Completed and inserted!)
- Different Pokemon on every route (WIP, inserted as completed!)
- Some new events (WIP, insertion coming soon!)
- The ability to summon Celebi in Ilex Forest (WIP, insertion coming soon!)

Note: These look like screenshots (with the Gambatte QT window) because I edited the Yanma screenshot. Like mentioned before, these are NOT screenshots, but edited battle scenes!

NOTE: I learned how from Miksy, so I plan on making it so that if you name your player character after one of the three characters in my Fan Fiction (I have the plot down, but it's not posted yet), either Entei, Raikou or Suicune will get a new sprite. Be sure to type your name in ALL CAPS. This will be a while, though)

Sprites

These are the sprites that I plan on adding to Pokemon Zephyr. There may be more coming, but it is doubtful, and only front sprites are being changed. I simply need to add these to the ROM, which may or may not take a rediculous amount of time. This includes shiny forms and normal forms:

Progress

Maps - Routes 29 and 30 so far.
Text - 100% (It's the same as Gold.)
Sprites - 50% (Most are the same as Gold, so this will only represent the new ones. Note that this will count up even if the sprites aren't inserted - it just can't exceed 50, as the other 50 is for inserting.)
*Events - 25% (Most are the same as Gold, so this will only represent the new ones. This will counts the scripts for the first 50% and the insertion for the next. I will only count each script when it is completed, and then again when it is implemented.)
*Tiles - ?% (Replacing all route tiles. This is to make the routes seem like the biome they are based on.)
Pokemon - Routes 29-31 so far.
A * marks the part that I am currently working on.

Beta 1.1 (You can continue as far as you like, but the only real changes are in the maps towards the beginning. This is a beta and a demo, and is not close to being completed!)

This looks like an okay hack for starting out, I used to lots of "map edit" hacks too.
Anyway, it sounds like you're wanting to add much more to this.
Check out Gen II Tutorials section for Resource Thread (and my video tutorials which I don't like to "advertise" but I feel like they're a very good way to get hang of hacking) and you should get further in no time.

I found your tutorials! Part 8 looks promising for what I plan to do, so I am going to watch it now. Thanks! Also, I added the Entei and Ampharos edited battle scenes, so it will look like that when I add the new sprites (if you have a level 6 male Cyndaquil named FLAVAROS). Also, in case someone wants to play but wants to have a custom sprite for the Beasts and isn't sure what to name your character, Flavaros is the Lord of Fire, who summons the Entei with a special sprite. The others will be posted shortly, but I wanted to make sure everyone at least has a chance to get a custom sprite when they play, if I can add them.

This isn't impossible to be done but still...

The best way to do this is probably by adding three new pokemon in the game and creating events that make you encounter these pokemon in case "player's name is xx". Making it so that Suicune, Entei and Raikou use different sprites depending on the name of the player is a much more difficult way to handle it (which could theoritically also be done).

@Miksy: Thanks. If I do that, would it also be possible to make it so that the regular one only occurs if you are NOT named the correct name? I wouldn't want people to get two of the same Beast.

That's not a problem - you actually create an event which does a check for player's name.
If "xx" --> @true
loadpokemon data for suicune/entei/raikou
startbattle etc.

@true
load pokemon data for beast yy
jump to "startbattle"

Edit: Instead of posting an entire fanfic, I'm just going to put the names in screenshots. See if you can tell what to name your character!
Edit2: I'm going to make several event Pokemon, now that I know how. I hope that nobody skipped ahead of the demo and played past Falkner, because I'm going to make a new Pokemon appear outside the Gym to help you battle him! It's battle ready, but you might want to use strong Pokemon to catch it. Grass types are resistant, but DON'T try to use a Water-type! Available in Demo 0.2 (Coming soon!)
Finally, Amvz, that was kind of rude. Other people add custom sprites, too, and I'd bet that you don't say that to them.
Edit3: More detailed progress added to the first post, and plans for Violet Event temporarily scrapped - they are still at a stage where I may be able to add them, but I don't think there are enough flags to use so that this doesn't another event impossible. Same thing with the Custom Sprite Beasts, but they might just have their new sprites replace their normal ones and not require names. I'm definately adding them, whether I make them require a name or not.
Edit4: I made a new version of Tileset 1. I am about to add it; I have TLP and I'm going to look at the tutorial about it.
