Unlock your Human Potential

Is a quote from Alex Jones.

God, kids these guys like everything handed over to them. Society likes things to be easy instead of working hard for it. You know what?

I've been on the rom "hacking"(not really rom hacking if the tools are doing it for you)scene since 08 and that's when the sleuth of tools began getting released. So it made hacking easier yeah, but at what cost? You don't enjoy the hack to the fullest because you're making it to appease a bunch of folks you've never met.

Well, I've made quite a few hacks(unfinished out of boredom)with tools and I just really haven't been pleased at all with it. However, when recently hacking the 2nd gen I actually took pride with my work because I felt I was ACTUALLY doing something, that I had full control over what I was doing. You are the humans, those are tools!

Unlock your HUMAN POTENTIAL! You get more joy out of rom hacking if you ACTUALLY rom hack the game your selves! It's not hard once you sit down and study how it works. I'm more thrilled working on my GBC hack than I ever was with the GBA hack.

All this was said replying to a kid at Pokecommunity. Where he asks how folks felt about rom hacking. Many people said they prefer 3rd gen because of all the tools. While tools are good, they aren't perfect, and is merely a reflection on it's creator.

Re: Unlock your Human Potential

Well yeah, tools like that don't really count. Game Makers don't solely rely on a programming tool. So why should we? I'm just saying tools shouldn't be used for every aspect of a hack. It;s just lazy.
