Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

When we switch a Pokémon's Pokeball , does the last pokeball it was in gets added back to the inventory?

Edit:also , this is why I wanted to be re-added to the discord server. It gets to see every update.

Also , did you think about Porting to Pokecrystal16?

No, otherwise you could keep swapping valuable Balls off Pokémon and reusing them.

I do plan to eventually port pokecrystal16 or something like it to Polished Crystal, so 4.0 can have more variety like HGSS with the Hoenn and Sinnoh Sound.

Polished Crystal has had item icons in the Bag for a long time; now it uses those icons in battle too.

Weather notifications every turn are slow, so they've been replaced by modern weather icons:

Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

The News Machine in Goldenrod's PokéCom Center has never worked before (after all, there's no mobile news system). Now it has a new purpose: charting your Pokémon's EVs and IVs (or to be less mathematical, effort and potential)!

IGyOD5S.png

To enable it, you'll have to breed at least one Egg, then talk to its engineer.

Edit: The interface has been improved: Up/Down switch between Pokémon, and the charts are filled in.

Is git master version tested? if encountering bugs, should I report here or create issue in github?

The master version is the latest one, and new bugs are still being found in it. Creating issues or posting in the Discord server's #bugs channel would be best. Thank you!

Thanks to FIQ, abilities now slide out like in Gen 5+. They even have the sound effect. :)

In Pokémon Stadium 2, Earl offered a lot of information in his Academy, including a type chart. Now he gives you a Type Chart in Polished Crystal, which you can even check freely during battle.

Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

Hello Rangi and guys. Very good hack, i love the idea to add stuffs and new locations in Johto and Kanto making some connections. Others generations music devamps are not a bad idea for more diversity, but it's still stange to hear some original gen1 musics for Kanto alongside their gen2 remix imo.

EDIT : I realized that bicycle isn't allowed in National Park gates, this should be fixed.

I've added Evening as a separate time of day from Morning, Day, and Night. It has different colors, but shares wild Pokémon with night.

Wow, that looks fantastic. How long did it take you to work that out? What times will palette changes take effect now?

Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

The "newbox" PC Storage System is ready to play! Many thanks to FIQ and darsh for making it possible.

ELgEvwU.png

The PC has an icon-based interface like Gen 3+, you can navigate through all the boxes without saving, and the boxes have grown from 14 to 16. So you can flip through your entire collection of 320 Pokémon! Each box can also have its own theme chosen from a set of 30.

Before updating your ROM, save in a Pokémon Center first floor, and back up your old ROM and save file just in case!

This did involve changes to the saved data structures, so old save files will not work; but we've borrowed Prism's BSP patch system to upgrade old saves. The .bsp file can be downloaded from the 3.0.0 beta nightly release, along with the usual .gbc and .sym files, and applied with a patcher tool like Prism's.

Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

First of this is easily the best game I have played to date. No exaggeration. The quality of life updates and all the small features make this pokemon experience the best there is. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. I know a lot of people feel the same as I do.

I wonder if you would consider doing a commission job?
My wife's birthday is coming up and she loves pokemon crystal.
I modded a GBC with an IPS screen so that she can play in the evenings.
She mentioned in passing that it would be cool to have every pokemon be available in the wild everywhere.
I thought it would be a great birthday present for her to hack Crystal for her, but man the learning curve is steep on this one and I don't think I have time to figure this out in time.
I have no idea how much time this would take but I'm willing to pay for your time. I'm not sure the best way to contact you but if you wish you can always shoot me an email at dadderulez(at)gmail.com

Some thoughts on the hack;
All pokemon should be available everywhere - I'm thinking all the pokemon that normally spawn in that area have a higher chance of spawning and the rest of the pokemon would have a low chance. That would kind of make sense maybe? They should also be the same level as the pokemon in the area I think. On second thought, perhaps pokemon that normally only spawn in water shouldn't spawn on land and vise versa :D
It would be cool if the title screen also said: "Johanna edition" or something similar. (Johanna is the name of my wife)

Re: Pokémon Polished Crystal 2.2.0

Hi everyone! I have a technical question. How many Pokemon could Generation 2, specifically Crystal, possibly handle. I'm working on a revival of Ancient Emerald and want to add the full Hoenn Natdex, but don't know if it is possible to add 386 Pokémon to Gen 2
