Can't figure out how to edit oak's walk path in pokered.

I don't know how to edit the walk path for professor Oak (and the guy in pewter city that walks you to the gym) in pokered. Any time I move the warp for Oak's lab he walks me to where the lab use to be so the game softlocks Can someone please help me so this doesn't happen.

Re: Can't figure out how to edit oak's walk path in pokered.

Take a look around line 130 in engine/overworld/npc_movement.asm. You should see a list of NPC movement commands for Oak and the player. Also, for some strange reason, the list of joypad buttons for the game to simulate you pressing to make the player walk are stored backwards. So the first things in the list are stepping up into the door at the end, and the end of the list is you walking down. Gen 1 is weird. The commands for Oak walking are stored in the way you would expect though. Each line is a movement and how many times to do that movement.

Thanks. I was finally able to move Oak's lab without getting softlocked. But now I'm having trouble with something else. I'm not sure what I did wrong but for some reason when I moved the museum guy and changed his movement everything would get all glitchy when he would try to walk me to the museum.

Then you need to closely review your changes to find where the inconsistency is.
Unfortunately, we can't diagnose the mistake with just a description of a symptom of the bug.
