Re: Polished Map 4.4.3 and 2.4.3++: a pokecrystal and pokered map editor

Hello Rangi, Wow, this is some skilled work. I wanted to ask you for help inserting an English script into a Japanese game. I have pointers, directions, tables translated, a Japanese Table ready even...but zero programming skills. I would super appreciate if you could help me insert said script into the rom and we can have a game to play. Thanks for your consideration :) let me know

Love the new update Rangi! Finally having the beginnings of a proper event editor is awesome!

There's a new update for versions 4.2.0 and 2.2.0++; check out the main post for details!

The most visible new feature is the Game Boy Screen overlay, which shows you how much of the map will be visible around some event in Event mode.

Yesterday's releases had a bug where resizing a map could break the coordinates of some events. I've fixed that in 4.2.1 and 2.2.1++, and also added two new features: more View→Theme options, and a three-block margin around maps. This gives you more room to scroll, and you can drag events into it, because sometimes you need an out-of-bounds event:

Re: Polished Map 4.4.3 and 2.4.3++: a pokecrystal and pokered map editor

I’ve downloaded Polished Map and installed it per the instructions given, but every time I try to launch the program, I get an error stating the following:

“The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application.”

I’ve updated my .NET Framework and downloaded the most recent C++ distributable, but so far had no joy in getting Polished Map to run.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Hello. I'm just wondering if this tool can export the maps as a PNG or JPEG. Thank you.

Yes, that's what Print does.

Version 4.4.2 and 2.4.2++ have a couple of updates. The themes have been improved a bit, and there's a new dark High Contrast theme. Also, tileset images will be saved as 2-bit grayscale PNGs. That means smaller files and simpler conversion to 2BPP.

Fantastic tool Rangi, you've done a great job. User-friendly event placement editing is a very welcome addition to the disassembly scene!

Will you be planning to add a blockset editor in a future update?

It has one; right-click a block to edit it, use the ± button to add/remove blocks.

My mistake - thanks for your efforts Rangi, it really is a great tool!

Maybe I've missed this as well, but would you consider a connections editor as part of a future update?

I don't plan to add a connection editor. The latest pokecrystal code simplifies connections to a single "sideways offset" number, so editing it as text shouldn't be too hard.

Re: Polished Map 4.4.3 and 2.4.3++: a pokecrystal and pokered map editor

Version 4.4.3 and 2.4.3++ are out! The only new feature is support for "keyitemball_event" in Polished Crystal, but they also fix some memory leaks, so I recommend updating.
