Re: Pokémon Brown Licktiung to Lickilicky via Hex inserting evo

Hi

I can't really understand your question but I'll do my best to clarify some things.

If I recall correctly, Lickilicki was not in Brown, so adding an entirely new Pokemon is a lot more than just adding stats and evolution data.
You can search the forum for tutorials on adding new Pokemon to Red, but keep in mind that there are likely big differences when adding a new Pokemon to Brown (new addresses for certain data, new formats for certain data, etc.) that are not well documented.
Also, most recent tutorials on adding new Pokemon to Red use the disassembly, pokered. Hex editing a new Pokemon is much more complicated and not as well documented, again especially for Brown.

To clarify your question about the pointer 6272:
Yes, you are correct that the pointer for Lickitung's evolution data would be in the ROM as 62 72.
Without explaining every little detail (I certainly can if you would like), pointers in the ROM that point to ROM data will always be written "backwards", so the pointer in the ROM 62 72 should be understood as the pointer $7262.
Also, these pointers will always be in the range $4000-$7FFF. And each pointer has an assumed (based on the context) corresponding bank number.
In the case of Lickitung's evolution data, the bank number is $0E.
You use the pointer $7262 and the bank number $0E to calculate the absolute address of the data:
$0E * $4000 + ($7262 % $4000) = $3B262

Re: Pokémon Brown Licktiung to Lickilicky via Hex inserting evo

OK thx.

So can you explain me how I can make an Evo without the disambly??
Because i have the Z80 but I don't Know where the Autoexec.bat
So I can only via Hex.
I will search the Forum Forum adding new Pokémon in Red and read it, but English is Not my Power so.

Thank you very much.
