[PokéYellow] Restoring Red & Blue Title Screen

I'm trying to restore the Red & Blue title screen (and eventually the intro battle sequence, hopefully) in Pokémon Yellow. My fork/branch can be found here: https://github.com/TRIFORCE89/pokeyello … itlescreen

I have the trainer sprite displaying, tossing a Pokéball in the air when a start monster is displayed, rotating randomly between a list of Pokémon I defined.

The problems: the palette doesn't seem right and the logo flashes colour on monster rotation. Also, I've lost the top half of the logo. It is all garbled.

Could some take a look at my commit and point me in the right direction?

Re: [PokéYellow] Restoring Red & Blue Title Screen

If you want the colors to look good on the GBC as well, you'd either have to make the GBC load the SGB palette routine of Red/Blue (no idea if that could work), or write an own GBC routine that mimicks the Red/Blue one, based on the existing Yellow and GSC intro routines

Re: [PokéYellow] Restoring Red & Blue Title Screen

Thanks Yoramrw,

I have a local branch where I've been experimenting with the palettes. Idea is to largely pull the Yellow SGB palette, as it is not as saturated the GBC palette. And then tweak it a bit to remove the "yellow-ness" like on the generic/mewmon palettes; would bring back a variation of the R&B palette there.

A nicer palette doesn't do much though when the title screen flashes on Pokémon rotation though. Or when missing half the logo.
