I don't know where I picked up this idea but it just got in my mind xD
It sounds a little bit childish but fun to me at least :D
Idea:
Try to create as great hack as you possibly can.
The only rule is that the size of the patch file that contains the data of that hack must not exceed the size of 1000 bytes.
After the hack is done, you can share it here for everybody to be played.

hmm? this sounds like a challenge! challenge accepted! :))
but doesn't already a new un-hacked rom weight 2000+ kb?

Sure, but he's talking about the size of the PATCH, which is tiny. For example, while the whole rom of Gold is 2048kb (aka 2mb), the patch for the Christmas Hack is only 93kb in the current release (can't say for the Christmas in July release as it is not ready yet).
This is definitely a challenge, but we really can't expect any real major changes in only 1kb of patch, which means we can change less than 1kb of the actual rom itself. How much less than 1kb we can change depends on how many different places in the rom we change, as the more different locations we modify, the more space in the patch is used telling where the write the changes to.
Still it will be interesting to see how much people can do with only 1kb. We certainly can't expect the next Brown or Prism from this effort, but it will be interesting.

heh, because it wasn't that big of a task to do, I happened to get excited about finishing it fast :D
Miksy proudly presents: Zombieland (picked up the name from the movie)
Zombieland is a hack of Pokemon Gold (U).
Storyline: Left unknown, mostly. You can figure out yourself what has happened before the game begins and after the game ends.

That was pretty fun, Miksy! I'll try my hand at one of these in a bit.

so how much weight can's it be more? miksy91 you had 14b left :)
how can i know that it doesn't exceed the amount of weight?
if you can see it only on ips? patch it all the time?
edit :
you gotta be kidding me? :D such a short hack :))
and i got stuck because the zombie followed me , i went into the corner :D

You could also calculate how many bytes is used for each edit although it's a lot faster by testing with ips.
I planned it through myself though, knew almost exactly how many bytes I can use for text after I had made all the scripts first.
btw, I've noticed you can get stuck but don't see it as a problem because the game has already ended before that happens :D

yeah :d
how do you create an ips?
choose the original
choose your hack
pick where to make it?

Yes. If you are using Lunar IPS you pick the base rom when it asks for "Original unmodified file to use" and select your hack when it asks for "modified file to use" and tell it where to save the patch in the next step and you should have it. And yeah, it has to be a short hack. There's not room for a whole lot of new content. In one try for a 1kb hack I had started, I was just changing a few tiles and map blocks (borrowed from Link's Awakening) and it ended up 1.5kb before I had done anything except: Change a few tiles, change their pallet assignment and block data to look right, and redraw pallet town. It's VERY easy to use more room than you are allowed without meaning to. Thats what makes this such a challenge.

Looking forwards to play your hacks when they're done :D
mateo, nice that you liked it btw.

Now, that's a cool idea (and nice hack too, Miksy)! Got to try this as soon as I find the time. I'll go for a R/B/Y hack, though.

thanks :)
I'd have probably made a simple hack of first gen too if I knew assembly better, I'm getting better at it all the time though.
