Light Screen R/B/Y

Light screen doubles special defence, but does that include special attack? Since special attack and defence are just "Special" in gen 1?

Light Screen doubles the user's Special when the opponent damages the user with a special move.

Light Screen will fail if the user is already under its effect. The effect of Light Screen is ignored by critical hits. If Light Screen causes the user's special to reach 1024 or higher at any time during battle calculations, it will be reduced mod 1024.

Oh I see! So it only doubles when it's not your turn. Too bad though.

Re: Light Screen R/B/Y

I wanted to ask about this because I was changing light screen to flash cannon. I added steel and dark type in my hack with steel being 1B. so I  changed light screen's hex code from     71 40 00 18 FF 1E     to     71 47 64 1B FF 0A      to get an attack like flash cannon. But when I use the move, the game freezes. Also it will say an unknown opcode sometimes instead of freezing in this case it was "Unknown opcode eb at bd84."

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is does anybody have any idea why?

Re: Light Screen R/B/Y

Problem fixed. After hours of retracing my steps and trying to figure out went wrong, I finally found that my pointers to the effects table were off. Issue resolved.
