I played a little bit of this the other day when you sent it to me on facebook. I think it as an ok idea for a hack, but some things seem out of place. I feel like the starters aught to be more rare instead of just being common on Route 1 for example. Seems like it would make things more balanced, you know?
A good tip is to make the starters one of the most rare pokemon available in their respective area. (The 10th pokemon on a list has about a 1/100 chance of being encountered.) And only one area for each, then try to have it make sense thematically like Charmander in cinnabar mansion or squirtle in seafoam island (bulbasaur being a grass type would fit in a lot of different areas but I always put him in viridian forest). If you want them to be EXTRA rare, don't have them in the wild at all so you can only get each one once (places with free pokemon: celadon mansion [eevee], silph co [lapras], mt moon pokecenter [magikarp] or you could use in-game trades).

So I tried this game for a bit.
Karate chop still remains as normal type move, it isn't a fighting move.
