SparkingYellow (Potential Remake Idea)

Oh my god! Another remake... I want to go and re-make Yellow, but in more of a HeartGold way, rather than FireRed.
Should I use Emerald as the base or FireRed? I'm debating between the two. I may go for Emerald since it would require some actual effort to re-do mapping, etc.

Features:
- All 386 Pokémon Obtainable. (Maybe a few Easter Eggs from Sinnoh/Unova with the extra slots.)
- Small animé influences as with the original game, Jessie/James may appear more often.
- Expanded story regarding the legendaries to bring it up to the standards of a current Pokémon game. Potentially ideas, such as Giovanni/TR experimenting with Mewtwo.
- De-Capitalization (5th Gen Standards, and even further.)
- Maybe Johto or Orange Islands as an alternative to the Sevii Islands. (Not sure if I'll even get rid of the Sevii Islands.)
- Small plot alterations, so it's not a total carbon copy remake like FR/LG almost was.
- Pokémon and Trainers will have BW/HG/SS Sprites in battle, maybe have animated sprites. But, that's only if I wanna put forth the extra effort (if on FireRed).
- FR/LG Overworlds/Tiles (If it ends up on Emerald.)
- All Pokémon will have two abilities, so there's a 50/50 chance each time.
- Some Pokémon will receive type changes.
- Slightly higher leveled trainers later in-game.
- TM/HM's will most likely be a culmination of Gen I/II and III.
- Will attempt to have a follow-me Pikachu. But, odds are that isn't happening.

Feel free to suggest ideas. This will most likely be a side project. I'm once again re-doing DarkCopper.

The title SparkingYellow, the Sparking comes from the Opening Theme song of Dragon Ball Z "CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA" where the first/last line is Sparking!, it seems to flow well too and is not the generic Electric/Thunder, etc. Yellow.

I like the idea. As is evidenced by my hacks, I'm a fan of remakes, new twists, new story elements, and updates in the style of HeartGold, so this sounds good to me.

On the Sevii island issue, I would say either leave it out and do Orange Islands, or use the maps to add new areas to Kanto, like HeartGold did for Johto.

If you use Emerald as a base, you will have the real time clock, and I believe there is a way now to add Day/Night to Emerald (I know I saw a way for Ruby, and that was a while back). So you could add that if you wanted to. Although for Yellow, that wouldn't really be necessary. Either way, best of luck to you if you decide to work on this hack.

I may go for Emerald, it seems like the ideal choice. Yeah, I'm liking the add areas to Kanto idea. Like have an extra room for the Bulbasaur event. You'll have to chase it then get it into battle. And I may have Route 25 raining with Charmander on a Rock. Squirtle, I think you'll get from Officer Jenny, but she'll probably battle you after you beat Lt. Surge. Then, give you the Squirtle.

EDIT: I am going with Emerald. For the Rival name, should it be Blue or Gary?

Don't go too crazy with the tileset. Try to make it look somewhat advanced. I know I bang on about gameplay over graphics, but if it's possible to increase the graphics without ruining gameplay, I'd still try and max it.

Yeah, I was planning on going with a FR/LG tileset or a HG/SS based-FR/LG Devamp of them. The palletes match the fourth gen tiles. Yeah, I'm focusing more on Gameplay. I'm also gonna re-use the FR/LG Music for the battles. Actually, I started some minor plot alterations while in school. It's a small list as of right now.

It is an Emerald Hack. I just ripped every overworld from FR/LG. I have also replaced the proper music needed for the: Trainer Battle, Wild Battle, Title Screen, New Game music. Those all match FR/LG. I will add the Gym/Elite Four Next.
