3DS XL Flashcard question.

Hi. I have a question about my 3ds xl. I use a R4i Gold card to play DS roms on it. Will my 3ds get banned from online play by that R4 card.
I am so bored i want to play Pokemon Y online(not flashcard) but i am afraid something bad will happen because i used a flashcard before...

For DS Roms: (D/P/P/HG/SS/B/W/B2/W2)
You won't be banned While using a DS Mode Flashcard Nintendo can't detect if it's legit or not.

Although if you want to trade from a 5th gen game to X/Y, then you need a retail cartridge. Flash Cards won't cut it.

Also, I recommend the SuperCard DSTwo. It's clearly the best choice, and offers everything the R4 does plus Nintendo has really never been able to block the SC Usage. (As long as you update the SC's FW BEFORE the 3DS's.

For 3DS Roms: (X/Y)

It's fairly difficult to be able to Play on a flashcard AND go online with it. In order to do so the proper way, you need a copy of PKMN X/Y, a Gateway 3DS, and a Dumper. (It comes in Gateway's newest firmware)

As of now, no one's been banned for using a flashcard. But that can change any day now.

If you're hoping to play a hack made for X/Y, you're wasting your time. Any change made to the rom (Including w/ a hex editor) and the 3DS won't allow the Rom to start (At least, that's the way it was about 3 months ago)

Also, there have been reports of 3DS Bricks while using modified Launcher.dat files W/ any flashcard EXCEPT for the Gateway 3DS. Basically, the R4's files are just a clone of the GW 3DS's.

If you're worried about getting banned, that's the least of your worries really. A Brick should be your major concern when using a 3DS Clone Flashcard.

If you want more info, you can ask at http://gbatemp.net/categories/nintendo- … sions.198/  where their are quite a few knowledgeable people, ones who can answer your question better than I can. Just make sure to search the forums before posting, otherwise users get upset.

Hope this cleared some of your questions up. :)

Re: 3DS XL Flashcard question.

Thanks. I've never wanted to use a flashcard that plays 3DS ROMs.
I don't want that my 3ds get's bricked by a "cheap plastic"
The R4i for ds roms is fine
