Aphex Twin in 8-bit

I've started a bit of a project. I'm transposing various Aphex Twin songs into 8-bit (and specifically GameBoy) format. Music hacking hasn't been something I've ever attempted, but the format for these songs is .gbs (gameboy sound). I'll be making some original songs as well.

Here is a quick, incomplete, and partially inaccurate demo of a song called Fingerbib by Aphex Twin.

I'm making a bunch of 8-bit versions of songs from the Selected Ambient Works Vol. II album (you can listen to the whole thing on youtube) and other songs by him as well. It mostly depends on what type of song it is.

I think this sort of music works well in 8-bit.

If anyone is interested or has any song requests besides what I'm already working on, let me know.

Thanks. Argh, I am in so much pain.... I had a long song (7.5 minutes) almost done but the program crashed and I lost all the progress. Like an idiot, I didn't save. Ugh.

Well... at least re-making it from scratch won't be so big deal anymore since you have done it once.
I know that feeling though, but by having to do things again and again, making backups without having to think about it will become more natural. Not that it would change anything, but learning ofter works by making mistakes first.

This is true, I remember what I did for the most part. And having really dissected the song, it makes it much easier. I got my frustration out by playing drums; the drum beat from the song is tattooed in my brain ;)

This is the song if anyone was interested.
