ROM/ISO Corruption (Data Finding Technique)

Advantages
Game data can be found using pretty much the same technique for various platforms (GBC, SNES, N64 etc), without learning various ASM (assembly) languages. This can be useful for those with little to no interest in the code side of things, in general or for a specific platform.

Disadvantages
Learning ASM for a platform gives one the knowledge to not only figure out games with tools such as debuggers but to change their functionality (player speed for instance). Corruption, being purely a data finding technique, is not really meant for that sort of thing.

InVerse hasn't released Basic ROM Corruption AFAIK as far as I know. Here's some helpful information:

Platform guides:

STOP.

You can try to hide yourself in this world of pretend; when the paper's crumpled up, it can't be perfect again.

Re: ROM/ISO Corruption (Data Finding Technique)

Okay, STOP so that makes sense STOP but (I'll just quit this here especially since I can't really even figure out the right moments for the pauses in english) what's with this thread in overall?? Hat's first sentence makes no sense, even though I know who is referring by InVerse. AFAIK - some random and useless sentence in a few letters or something else?
Whatever - makes no sense to me at least.

Apart from that, rom corruption is a kinda handy technique to use sometimes.

Re: ROM/ISO Corruption (Data Finding Technique)

Okay, that makes a lot more sense now.
I first thought the program's name would have been AFAIK or something similar to that. Not really used to any slang words in english.

Basic ROM Corruption is the name of a document InVerse hasn't released (AFAIK).

Re: ROM/ISO Corruption (Data Finding Technique)

The only guy who did some sort of kinda weird stuff about ROM corruption STOP
was that Chwdit2 or Chewditt1 or whatever STOP
which dedicated exclusively to ROM corruption. STOP

AFAIK, ROM Corruption consist in corrupt your ROM as much as you can STOP
making it still playable though as long as you can STOP

If you wish do a crazy ROM corruption is corrupt the RAM STOP
infact the craziest corruption I saw in Red\Blue (Pokemon) was STOP
about glitching the RAM making it random values each 6 milliseconds STOP
which made very crazy modification to Tileset, map, battles, music STOP

I thought I saw the corrupted RAM corruption ALIT (At Least I Think) STOP
in one of the videos of ChikaurusGL, still not sure STOP.

What bearing does that debatable topic have on ROM corruption? Way to derail a thread, Tauwasser :P

P.S. I've nothing personal against you. I don't agree with the sort of behaviour you mentioned either.

Ehrm... are you referring to me or to Tauwasser (or to someone else)?

If it's the first one, I didn't want offend you in some way (which I don't know... the "Stop" joke?);

By the way that unreleased document could be useful if you want mess up roms and see what happen and have a couple of laughs.

Tauwasser. Your STOP joke was pretty funny.

*80C gets told to STOP by Skeetendo staff STOP then gets arrested for writing STOP too many times STOP ;)*

Haha, yeah (like this). There's fortunately a fair amount of wisdom in the posted links as well.
