Sawakita! You are really a great hacker! Today, while surfing on pokécommunity, I found your hack in progressing hack thread. And it turns out you can even implement Day/Night system on Blue! I am very impressed. Looks like you are the first person to successfully do so. Really great!

Thank you, although I'm afraid that the term "successfully" has to be postponed, since the RTC still lacks some fundamental parts (initializing of time in the intro; inserting a watch, in the items, to be able to check the time; I also made a coding mistake).
Also, this is a really busy month (you know, exams and stuff), so it could take a while before more progress happens in the hack.

Having some free time this weekend, I could progress a very little bit, including reordering pokemons' data (cries, movesets, etc.): there's no internal/dex order distinction, now; they're the same.
I also took a screenshot of RTC, just to give you the gist of what it will look like, when you check what time is it:

Finally RTC is done! It was hard and took some time, but now it's completed. Large parts of code have been taken from Gold; the Intro's "time-setting" was inspired by GSC too, as you can see in this video:

It will allow different palettes between day/night, on GB mode too (greenscale):
MORN/DAY NIGHT

Great. I think the effort was worthwile. It looks really awesome.
I wonder whether you're going to implement day and night encounters...?
(Btw, what is the door next to the trees for? ;D)

Awesome work as ever :D
Besides, nice to see you're working on it too.
I've been quite lazy myself now that I'm so much on reserve these days.

Thank you! Yes, I planned to add d/n encounters, but probably later on, as I'd like to go on in some actual map/events progress, as in the last months I was seduced by the many possible features I could add to the hack (i.e. I think I focused too much on engine editing, rather than on actual game/story progressing).

haha, that's just decorative, I guess!

Thanks! Well I got caught in other life commitments, and in the last weeks I prefered dedicating my 'hobby time' a little bit more on disassembling, to help IIMarkus in updating his WIP disassembly, as he's even more busy than me, usually.
Looking awesome mate!
Thank you very much, Mateo!

Ha! thanks, that's the first time I receive compliments for the mapping!

Oh sweet lord. THE best Generation I hack currently online. I implore you to not pull a Pokemon Ice version...but I feel like you're a trustworthy guy and you won't. In all honesty, this easily outshines Brown. (:
I don't calculate stat values, I don't breed my way to perfection, and I don't care about natures. I catch my Pokemon the way they are, and treat them like individuals instead of brainless drones.

Impressive. Does it progressively get darker or do the palletes change suddenley?
Offline
The palettes changes suddenly (at 18:00 get darker, and at 05:00 return normal). Actually in DMG mode making it progressive isn't good-looking, since the palette is grey-scale (sort of), so the daytime is black/dark grey/light grey/white, while at night it's black/dark grey/dark grey/light grey; otherwise you couldn't see almost anything (because everything would be too dark).
Nonetheless, in SGB-mode it's possible (and really feasable) to switch among various colour-palettes so that you can have any quantity of different group-palettes (I've not implemented this, though).

Hey dude, Brown has and always will have it's own unique charm. This is what I hate about the modern hacking community, yeah we are hacking Pokemon but we're not catching Pokemon so there is no "very best, like no one everwas! boom boom boom....." :P
...each hack has it's own merits and charms, from the simple Kanto re-envisions to the full blown new lands, and I think that's one big crux that messes the community up, everyone's trying out do each other. We're not big corporate businesses here, we are hobbyists doing what we enjoy.

I agree, also considering that I discovered hacking after playing Brown, so it's one of the reasons that made me starting hacking ROMs..

Comparing this to Brown is like comparing a spider to a scorpion. They're both arachnids, but one has a poison sack on the end of a tail.

I've added an intro note at the very beginning of the game:
@MATEO:
As you see, I've put Skeetendo's logo in the hack. Is it ok for you?
Also, if you agree that it stays in the hack, could you tell me who designed it, so I can credit him/her?

Awesome update. This looks really impressive. You could change Squirtle's palette to the "Bulbasaur blue/green".
Edit: Oh, I forgot, that this is a Pokemon Blue hack.

Could this hack be played on an iPod touch via the GBC ADX emulator?

@Sawakita - Likin' the intro mate. And sure, I'm cool with you adding the Skeetendo logo there.

This hack gets better and better! Will you be adding a new region or expanding the current one? There is a lot of map space in R/B/Y.

Too bad, SGB border's palette doesn't support more than 3 different palettes. Anyway I slightly edited the color assignment to SGB border tiles, and came out with this:
It probably looks better (except for Squirtle's tail, but it really couldn't be adjusted better since that tile's background would become blue as well), so thank you for pointing it out!

I don't know that emulator, anyway I'm sure that if it can run pokemon Blue, then it will be able to run Wood as well.

Nice, thank you! (by the way, did You design it?)

I don't know. The story doesn't involve another region so I'll probably just add new maps to the existing one (unless I change idea during the development, which is quite likely :P)

Wood now support specific palettes for each pokemon (I still need to fix some of them since some of the colors don't fit very well with the related sprite).
And about an older post I wrote I've sort of improved time-conditioned palettes, although the daytime palettes don't convince me too much:
What do you think? (any suggestion about better palettes' choices are more than welcome)
Offline
I like the specific palettes for each pokemon, and the time of the day palettes look good too. Although maybe you could change either the morning or second day palette since they look similar, IMO.
