a few questions

hello there, i'm new here
and i want to ask some questions (about pkm gold) ...
i know some are in other threads but my knowledge of hex editing is really bad..
the questions i have:
1 - is there any easy way to learn hex editing?

2 - how do i change tilesets other than 1 in title layer pro

3 - how do i change the encounter rate of shiny's

4 - how do i import music files like changing jhoto wild pokemon battle into a golden sun song?

5 - how do i expand the pokedex?

6 - how do i edit the evolution data?

7 - is there a way to insert pokemon sprite's in agixp wich are bigger than te existing one? like changing a 40X40 into 56X56

8 - how do i edit the tilescreen?

9 - how to add maps (like a new route or a new citty)?

these are all my questions for now...
(sorry for my bad english)

Start small—for example, with text editing. Then move into different kinds of data structures (wild Pokémon, trainers, etc.).

There is no easy way to import music from a GBA game, because they are completely different formats. You’ll have to rewrite the song into the Pokémon GSC format. Here is some information on music hacking.

thank you for answering the evolution data question, it really helped and wasn't too hard :) (however why does 10 mean lvl 16? is there an complete list for those values? )
and about the music... it's a little hard to understand. is it easier to import something like a midi or a .ftm ? and how would you do that?
i'm still figuring the shiny tread out.
so far so good

is there also a tread for the moves  pokemon can learn? like make an bulbasaur able to learn ember at level 20?

Those numbers are in hexadecimal. Just like how decimal numbers go from 0 to 9 before hitting 10, hexadecimal numbers use letters to go from 0 to F (15) before hitting 10. You can convert between hexadecimal and decimal in Windows Calculator.

  • 0 = 0

  • 1 = 1

  • 2 = 2

  • 3 = 3

  • 4 = 4

  • 5 = 5

  • 6 = 6

  • 7 = 7

  • 8 = 8

  • 9 = 9

  • 10 = A

  • 11 = B

  • 12 = C

  • 13 = D

  • 14 = E

  • 15 = F

  • 16 = 10

  • 17 = 11

Not MIDI, but someone released a Famitracker importer for Pokémon Red. Here is more information.

Again, evolutions are intermixed with level‐up moves. Here is an example.

thanks again,
i made some new questions.

1- how do i change the map conections? like putting route 29 below new bark town

2 - how can i edit the tilesets. with title layer pro i only found tileset 1.

3 - as famitracker is for red... is there any way to import music in gold? and get it to a loop?(sound edit 1.3 works but after the song ends it doesn't loop anymore) i know coolboyman does have some custom music in prism.

2. hex editing. check my thread lol mateo answered that question.
EDIT:
both of these questions are answered by Hex'ing.
credits start at &H1C112A
and the town names start at &H924FE
