Pokemon Zap, Artic & Molten trilogy

I was searching yesterday some old school hacks for personal interest and I've found a trilogy made by a brasilian hacker, those were 3 hacks based on Red, Blue and the last one on Yellow, their names were Molten, Artic & Zap and had the legendary birds as their mascottes.
The hack seemed good, expecially for the graphics and the mapping (exept the glitched-up rocket grunt everything was good looking).

Did you saw it?

I remember those. I don't know if I still have them around, but they were pretty cool. I seem to remember getting stuck on an island somewhere and not being able to continue, but then again I could have just gotten lost. They seemed like pretty neat hacks though.

Molten looked good, is the Red modification, am I right?
Exept the glitched rocket grunt, it looked good.

Hmm... I didn't got Molten, do you have .ips format or rom format?

Re: Pokemon Zap, Artic & Molten trilogy

Ok, now a bit of explaining about.

This is a trilogy of 3 hacks of RBY, and just like RBY it has 3 games.

Pokemon Molten has Moltres as mascotte, Artic Articuno & Zap has Zapdos.

These hacks were created by Iron Nidow (That was - and is - also here on Skeetendo) back in the 2008\2009.
They have a good design that looks like sometimes like GenIV, there were still some limitation in some minor things such as grammar and a few bugs, but the remaining is good also because this is one of the few total overhaul RBY hacks.
It doesn't have script hacking and some advanced things (like the inserction of new pokemon, Iron Nidow said it wasn't about to do that).

I know a few time ago it was still located on PC, the thread was locked due to no posting over many months and the last month it was removed, fortunately I got the ips patches just before everything flow up.

I think Iron Nidow talked around 2010\2011 he was going to continue with it (the beta is in an advanced state of completion, near to 85%) but since 2 years... nothing.

I heard even a team lead by Iron Nidow was about to complete the hack but we didn't knew anything after 2011.

I dunno if he scrapped\left it or decided to fix everything before the final release.

Re: Pokemon Zap, Artic & Molten trilogy

Bad news, it seems that those hacks are dead :(
because these hacks were developed by a team lead by Iron Nidow that mysteriously disappeared as well as these hacks: the only one place was PC and I was enough quick to download all the OG Ips before the thread was permanently deleted the day after, probabilly I'm one of the last ones that has still the original files.

In order to avoid that these hacks may get lost here are them:

Pokemon Zap
Pokemon Artic
Pokemon Molten

I really liked the hacks of Iron Nidow and I think he is a good hacker (he created also the Patch with Yellow Sprites for Pokemon Red), too bad that once again a team fails finish a hack (or more hacks), this is a sign of respect for his works.
