Disabling ALL the sound? (G/S/C)

Hoello everyone! Im mae a hack so I can play it on my cellphone (with MeBoy) and I want to know if its possible disabling ALL the sounds in the ROM
Why I want to do this? well, MeBoy 2.2 can emulate sounds, but 2.2 doesn't work on my phone... MeBoy 1.6 works fine, but in GBC roms it s a bit slow... when I play on my PC, if you turn off the sound in the emulator, the game is a lot faster, so I want to test if this is possible to "speed up" the game on my phone with thos method...

Thanks if someone help me :)

(Also, I dont know anything about ASM or Hexing things, I do my "hack" with the programs that are around internet)

Re: Disabling ALL the sound? (G/S/C)

You should find the soundtracks with a hex-editor, and fill up every soundtrack with ZERO's. But I don't think that this will made the game faster, because nothing is also something. I mean, if you place zero's on the soundtracks, the game plays silence, but it still reads the silence. So, I think you have to live with it. The game is also much better with sounds, IMO.

I doubt this will make it run any faster. The fact is, is that the emulator is still trying to emulate sound.

And the game still tries to play the sound. It is still playing the silence, and in digital system, silence is also sound.
