Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

My old hack of Pokémon Blue will not be finished but the patch has been uploaded:

Hack Name:
Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy
Hack of: Pokémon Blue
Hacker: Hat
Progress: 1/10

What's the story?

Suddenly a figure appears before you, it's a man in a white coat holding a book.
The man starts talking, the first thing you find out is that you're actually
dreaming! He says his name is Professor Oak and that he studies creatures called
Pokémon. He then goes on to explain that you and him don't live in the same
dimension, you live in the region Azula which you already knew, but he says he
lives in Kanto, which you've never heard of. After some more weird conversation
about Pokémon, you and your best friend amongst other things, he tells you he has
alot to do and says he has to "go wake up".

Suddenly you wake up, you fell asleep underneath your house! This is the small
underground path that you and your neighbour, your best friend had dug together,
beneath both of your houses because... well, maybe you had nothing better to do!

All you can think about is that strange (even for you!) dream you had, then you
suddenly remember something! Today's the day the local professor, Foxy, gives you
and your friend your first ever Pokémon! Well, now that stupid dream's over and
done with, what's stopping you from going to see her?

What may happen to you...

* Getting your very first Pokémon, a companion to explore the region of Azula with!
* Stopping good guys from making Azula a better place to live in!
* Becoming a great Pokémon Trainer by battling others!

What's changed? ...Quite a bit!

* Both colours and music are horribly mixed!
* Some terrible new art!
* The whole world is upside down and dark!
* Obvious Zelda 4 GFX borrowing... font, text borders, others!
* No more gyms and badges! Beat dungeons and collect spells!
* Pokémon have a somewhat more different look!
* Who cares?!?!?!

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

After the last patch was released I stopped working on the hack to do other things. There were times when I considered finishing it but finally realised the inspiration to do so had gone.

It's a real pain I might say, losing your inspiration for the hack is inevitable but it's a sad thing to occur in the midst of your project:(

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

It's the first time I look at this, I noticed short time ago that this hack was rumored to be a very cool hack,
the download link anyway doesn't work (it says web page not avaiable).

Do you still have some screenshots of it?

I left this forum.

The top link on this page works for me as well. Perhaps, 80C, you clicked a link at PC?

The old Grey and the new Grey (FF) were quite different. I don't have the screenshots originally posted with either project. I would have posted the old Grey patch if I still had a copy.

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

it says that the server refused my connection, I don't know why...
Is it protected?

No, the link doesn't load, the download page doesn't work, I tried even with cache copies but every try was a failure...

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

I really don't have any idea... maybe it's the server of my country that got funky connections...
I tried adjust the settings, but nothing worked.
This happens only with that site\adress.

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

Oh, thank you very much! ;)

I saw the YT Video for this hack before I downloaded it, it was amazing and scary at the same time, nice musci, was the music hacked by hex-editing?
The music is cool because it sounds creepy and mysterious, such as also the starting location in that cave...

The screenshots look cool, that looked very cool, I love the dark feeling!

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

You are quite welcome. The music was hacked by swapping pointers so as to give a discordant feel to the various places.

Thank you for the compliments! ;)

Re: Pokémon Grey: Fatal Fantasy (Abandoned Project)

Wow! That looks cool. I think, with some custom music, it would be even cooler.

Wow! I didn't expected that! This game HAS custom music. It's not self-made music. The songs are mixed together. But that's also very cool.
