japanese g/s/c crashes when the guy is showing you how to get pokemon

I was playing pokemon gold and crystal in japanese.the guy who shows you how to catch pokemons makes the game crash when he is searching for a pokeball to throw.i believed it was because of the cheats,but it isn't.i was playing a rom with GBC AD as emulator.please tell me it's the rom or the emu,because i'd like to buy a japanese version of gold soon or later.
P.s. the rom was v1.0

Mine doesn't. I have a jap. crystal cartridge and it's doing fine.

I remember seeing that bug in an old version of VBA. Maybe there’s something about that event that a few emulators had trouble with (although any modern emulator can handle it fine).

So the emulator was the culprit. Maybe bgb could emulate it well.
