Poketext Help

Hi.

I've been trying to hack up a Silver ROM without any hacking experience (Yeah, I know...), and it looks like I need your help.  I've tried Googling around for answers, but to no avail.  :(

Anyways, I've been trying to edit the ingame text with Poketext, and it's not saving.  No, really.  I type in the new text and press the save button, and yet, when I close out and open the ROM in the program again, it reverts back to the original text.  It's really frustrating.

What am I doing wrong?  I've tried looking for a simple written tutorial, but I couldn't find anything.  Please help me.  :(

Re: Poketext Help

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but make sure the rom isn't marked as read only.

You can try to hide yourself in this world of pretend; when the paper's crumpled up, it can't be perfect again.

Re: Poketext Help

Ok, I think I know what the problem is. Poketext actually has 2 save buttons. The large visible one under the text window basically means "Confirm this is what you meant to type, so you can edit another block of text, and we'll hold on to it for you until you save". The one under the File->Save option actually commits your changes to the rom.

Re: Poketext Help

Also make sure you don't have another program using the file open.

Yes, that worked!  Thank you!  :D

(Wow, why didn't I think of that before?  *facepalm*)

EDIT:  Okay, I'm having another issue, now--Where can I edit the text for the Indigo Plateau?  I don't see any "Indigo Plateau" or "Pokemon League" categories.  *shrug*
