Pokemon silver.... no longer pokemon silver?

Hey, I was inserting some tilesets for my pokemon black and white demake. Now, when I try open the rom in g2map it says it is a bad rom, and won't let me open. goldmap opens fine, but I hate how it's zoomed in and doesn't show proper white. now, johtomap also opens, but comes up with a message saying "rom D not supported. must be a gold/silver (u) or (E) rom. hover there is an option to keep going any way, and it loads fine. (but johtomaps properties has broken since changing the rom pallets and tilesets. so is there anyway to fix this, and have the rom register as a pokemon gold/silver rom again?

Re: Pokemon silver.... no longer pokemon silver?

Open it up in a hex editor like Translhextion that lets you view ASCII characters on the right instead of just ##### like Goldfinger does, and look at the offset 0x134.

In a normal Pokemon Silver rom, the string here will say POKEMON_SLVAAXE. This is the rom's internal name, and is what most editors look for when determining the rom to be valid or not. If your rom says something else there, change it to the original internal name and see if that fixes things.

Hmm, usually I use goldfinger, so is all that jargon normal? the POKEMON_SLVAAXE is there, so I'm still confused as to what's causing this problem :/
