GSC TM-HM Editor

Here is my third tool for GSC. It has functions like the TMMaster of swampert but the one I developed is capable of making all Pokemon compatible with all 50 TMs and 7 HMs in just one button click. But if you do not want to do that, there are select all and select none buttons. It can also make all TMs free in one click. In short this is a much better version of TMMaster. Here's the link: GSC TM-HM Editor

Again the password for the zip file is sceptile30 and also you need .Net framework: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … x?id=24872. Send me your feedbacks please thanks! :)

Man, you are a tool making machine! You've made it so much easier to for others (such as me) to finally make our own edited version. Thanks a whole bunch.

Re: GSC TM-HM Editor

I have  few complaints about this tool. The idea is great and it works well. The interface look good, except the buttons overlap each other and the area that displays the "Contained Move" get overlapped by the description so you can't see the front of the move.

Also it would have been very nice for a Readme file that explained exactly that when you click "Make all Pokemon compatible with all TM an..." (the rest of the button is cut off) that it will automatically save your rom, and the action is permanent. That way someone like me who is messing around with the tool doesn't go and make all Pokemon in the game compatible with all TMs and HMs with no easy way to go back.

It probably is partly my fault for trusting the tool in the first place and I should have either made a back up or tried it out on a test rom instead of my actual hack, but that is really poor design. Now I have to go through all 251 Pokemon and fix their TM and HM compatibility.

Let this also be a warning for everyone else who tries this tool!

Other than those obvious flaws the tool is good at what it does.

Not to worry :)
Pokemon base stats structure begins at 0x51B0B? so you could simply copy --> paste the base stats of every single pokemon from an unmodified rom to your hacked rom.

That's not necessarily a fair statement.
theoblivinator acknowledged he could haved done it on a back-up or practice rom. And he's only giving his advice on how ericjoy30 could make the tool better.
He's just offering his feedback. Isn't that what everyone wants?
So to tell him he needs to blame himself and not the tool, to me, is unfair.

But that's just it, isn't it? he said that he should have played around with the tool on a backup. So that isn't the fault of the tool! That is a user error. Or perhaps, a user misjudgment. It isn't any fault of the tool, just a misjudgment about what the tool would do. maybe he could learn from this. I know I spent a lot of time editing maps and stuff on roms when I was new to hacking only to corrupt the event data with no knowledge of how to fix it, thus making my efforts a waste of time. It really is not a big deal. It just doesn't make sense to blame an honest human error on the tool. maybe instead of criticizing the functionality of the tool, he could suggest a way to clarify to the user what the specific element of the tool does. edit: (which, now that I read it further, he did.)

no harm, no foul. you can't get it right every time.

edit: I misunderstood part of what theoblivinator said... my apologies to him and Danny E-33.

I love how every new member says the link has died before even checking out the posts. The links for all my tools are already posted in one thread. All you have to do is READ to see the thread.
