Re: editing strength and weakness

Koolboyman has uploaded a tutorial about it in Pokecommunity.
It should be either in Research & Development or Tutorials section.

Re: editing strength and weakness

I was also interested in taking a look at this sometime, if someone could show us to a link. I would be doing this for Red, however. Perhaps the locations would be different, but I'm sure the structure is the same.

Re: editing strength and weakness

Thank you! I appreciate it :) I was just planning on making a few tweaks to this.
But while we already have a new thread about strength/weakness, I have a quick question.
So in RGBYGSC, type 0x02 is Flying and type 0x06 is Bird. When HAT? asked about this, Coolboyman said it was for MissingNo. So there are no Pokemon that use the Bird type and all bird Pokemon are Flying? What sense is there in adding a Bird type at all then if it's just a filler for glitch Pokemon? You could just as easily remove the Bird type and change all MissingNo to Normal and it would be just as effective, right? Does anyone have any theories why they wasted time to add in a Bird type? Then they took it out in RSE so it really must've had no meaning..

It isn't a "filler" type for MissingNo. In fact, it's not even on MissingNo. on purpose. Likely what happened was they originally had Bird and Flying as separate types, thought it was stupid, and didn't make any Pokemon Bird type. It's not in the strengths/weaknesses because they removed it from that, but they didn't remove the type's name itself (all a type is is a word; the only two things that give it meaning are the strength/weakness table, and one other thing). Also I believe an NPC mentions "bird" type somewhere in the game, since they forgot to change it to flying.

You can try to hide yourself in this world of pretend; when the paper's crumpled up, it can't be perfect again.
