Hey all.

I've always had problems getting MegaMap to run properly. Also, several friends of mine were unable to get MegaMap running on their Windows 7 computers. I just got a new laptop, and I was determined to get it working, and I found out how to do it. Please note this only works for 64 bit versions.

If you try and run MegaMap, and it comes up with an error talking about missing .ocx files, the solution is very simple.

1. Google the name of the .ocx file you need. This website is very useful, but any will work: http://www.ocxdump.com/

2. Download the file and place it in the following folder: C:/windows/sysWOW64 [Not System32, as most commonly done]

3. Run Command Prompt as an Administrator. Just search for it and then Right Click and select Run As Administrator.

4. Type in the following, exactly as you see:

Regsvr32 c:\windows\sysWOW64\********.ocx

Obviously replacing the '*'s with the name of the .ocx file. You should get a confirmation that it was registered correctly. If not, please check and make sure you are running CMD as an administrator and any possible spelling errors.

Run MegaMap again, and if you get another error with a different .ocx file, repeat steps 1-4 as many times as necessary. I had to download 3 files and I was done.

I don't know if this tutorial will help anyone, but I've heard quite a few people say MegaMap can't be run on Windows 7.
